Oliver Valvetek to supply critical equipment for Chevron's Jack St Malo Field Development

Oliver Valvetek is proud to announce that a batch of high-performance valves will soon be heading to the Gulf of Mexico, specifically for use in the Jack St Malo field development, operated by Chevron. These valves will play a vital role in subsea operations, where they will be mounted on the Subsea Christmas Tree’s ROV panel.

While the precise application remains confidential, it is typical for such valves to be integrated into the Subsea Christmas Tree (XT) system. These systems are essential for offshore oil and gas production, controlling the flow of hydrocarbons from the seabed to the surface.

In an innovative twist, these valves will be uniquely equipped with a Position Indicator for Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) verification of their operation. This feature provides ROV operators with clear, real-time feedback on valve status, enabling precise open/close indication. The valves in question are multi-turn designs, which makes accurate ROV verification particularly crucial. This enhancement will ensure smooth and safe operation in the challenging subsea environment.

The Jack St Malo field development is one of Chevron’s flagship projects in the Gulf of Mexico, an area rich in untapped energy resources. It is located approximately 280 miles (450 kilometers) off the coast of Louisiana in the deepwater region of the Gulf, where Chevron is working to maximise production while maintaining the highest safety and environmental standards.

Oliver Valvetek continues to support the energy industry with its world-class engineering and innovative solutions, solidifying its reputation as a trusted partner for critical subsea applications.
