INSIDE OUT DENIM RAGS & TAGS! A new denim company that doesn’t follow rules. A pair of denim jeans, skirts or jackets that show all of their seams, threads, tags and labels.

Inside out denim? Why not, everyone has loved every single type of jean over the decade whether that distressed, flares or mom. By having a new style of jeans there is going to be more recycled denim used which will be so much better for the environment. Rags & Tags are the perfect branding which shows all of the construction of the denim showing how much work goes into just one pair.

What’s not to like from Rags & Tags? An amazing pair of jeans that hugs you perfectly in the right places! As many or as little rips and any shade of denim you can think of. With these denim garments you will be so up to trend with a classic pair of denim jeans with a super cool edgy look to them.

INSIGHTS AND RESEARCH Fashion trends come and go, but denim jeans are one item of clothing that will always be a staple in many closets. It’s the particular style of denim that changes year after year, some decades seeing a rise in baggy jeans, others full of tight, low-rise moments.

Jeans have been around since the mid-1800s and they’ve undergone a lot of changes.

In the 1990s, the most popular trend was big and baggy jeans. In the 2000s, skinny jeans and colourful jeans began gaining popularity which stuck around for a while.

Ripped jeans are the fashion trend that has refused to die, but there are signs that 20 years after Kate Moss and a selection of indie rockers first sported skinny jeans, they may finally be losing their allure. This means the public will be waiting for a new denim trend meaning now is the perfect time for inside out denim to start.

My original idea came for seeing a lot of ‘inside out’ clothing. I’ve been seeing a lot of tops – mainly made out of more sheer fabrics, that have had their seams on the outside. I personally love this idea I feel it gives a whole different look/feel to what basically is a simple top. With the amount of love these tops got I though the idea of doing this is a garment that everyone wears daily would have a much bigger effect and have the potential to become the new next trend from Spring/Summer 2021.

TREND PREDICTION

Inside out denim could so be the new trend! Spring/Summer 2021 is literally begging for a new trend and why not a new denim trend? Every pair ofjeans has been a huge trend so lets add another to the mix.

There once was once a time where ‘inside out’ tops were in trend – mainly lighter sheer fabrics, but never a thicker fabric like denim. I believe that this could be a massive trend waiting to start. Inside-out denim could so be the new destressed ripped jeans which everyone loved.

UNIQUE AND FORWARD THINKING

I see inside out denim evolving by it being worn/shown on catwalks, this means more companies and brands will be able to see it meaning there’s a bigger chance of it being produces in retail ready for customers to purchases. I feel once you get a few celebrities to wear a piece of inside out denim it will instantly become a massive trend. Denim products have always been in fashion weather that’s jackets, jeans, skirts or accessories. One thing I have never seen though is inside out denim, I’ve never seen jeans where you have the pockets and seams on the outside so they’re visible. This has been a trend before in lighter sheer fabrics so the idea of it being on a garment such as denim, I feel would be trendy and a huge hit.

MARKET RESEARCH Inside out denim isn’t a thing, this is why it would be perfect as the new trend for spring/summer 2021. I have made a survey to get the opinions of the public – mainly young adults, to find out what every one’s opinions on inside out denim is. I posted this on my Instagram as more teenagers and young adults are on there and I feel they would be the ideal target audience.

What this survey told me was that no one knows what inside out denim is, which is why it could be a perfect idea. At the end of the survey I asked everyone if they loved the idea of inside out denim over 80% said they loved it.

First, I asked if they thought inside out denim could be a trend, I wanted to know if people have heard of it before and weather, they could see it being a trend. By the results everyone who has heard of inside out denim loves the idea and could see it becoming a trend which is amazing as it shows that people like this project and could see it becoming a trend.

The next question I asked was if they thought that if the right person was to promote inside out denim, would more people buy this product. This question helped me understand that if more people wore inside out denim everyone else would follow and also wear it making it a bigger trend.

Another question I asked is what shops could you see inside out denim being sold in. there was a lot of answers for this one, mainly being Urban Outfitters and ASOS. The fact that almost everyone voted for these two shows me that theses two brands could easily sell inside out denim products without anyone questioning it which is perfect.
