President’s Letter I just celebrated my 20th anniversary working at BAHEP. If there’s one thing I’ve learned over those years it’s that nothing is static. Something or someone somewhere is moving or changing. That makes the business of economic development challenging, interesting, and, honestly, at times very demanding. During the past year, we’ve all experienced the highs and lows of keeping the economy of the region and the world moving while COVID-19 has been doing its best to prevent that from happening. Our fight against this virus is not over, but the strides that we have made in protecting ourselves and others from its devastation have been nothing short of miraculous. Turning to the business of economic development, there is much that takes place behind the scenes. Months or even years can be spent on bringing a project to the region that often ends in disappointment. However, we learn from everything we do, and this experience just makes us better. Bob Mitchell Axle, 3D, and Exe are not only huge wins for BAHEP, but they will bring many high-paying jobs to Bay Area Houston. The first three projects will be located at the Houston Spaceport, and what a success story that has turned out to be. Granted its license in 2015, the Houston Spaceport went from vacant land and a dream to a place where dreams are being realized today. BAHEP has participated closely with the Houston Airport System every step of the way, and it has been a very rewarding partnership. In other good news, we recently welcomed two new member cities — Hitchcock and Santa Fe — bringing the number of our member cities to 16. We also added several other great new members to our organization, and you can see who they are in our Membership section. As always, we sincerely appreciate the support of all of our members. We absolutely could not do what we do without each and every one of you. Kind regards,

April and May. BAHEP, along with the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce (CLACC), advocated for the following legislative priorities to key legislators and committee chairs:  Education and Workforce Development,  Supporting the Region’s Healthcare System,  Coastal Barrier and Gulf Coast Protection District,
