Your marriage is probably like most, with highs and lows, joys and challenges. Experiences of loving each other change over time as you go through life, build a family, and grow both individually and together. One view is that loving God as a couple strengthens your
love for each other. If you keep love alive, you’re more likely to stay united here on earth and for eternity.
Learning-in-Action
There is no single definition of a beloved marriage partnership, and this book simply encourages you to develop your own understanding and application of the concept. You are invited to be inspired and to carry out learning-in-action to discover what it can mean for you.
To support your discovery process, various topics are included that may relate to being beloved partners. You will decide for yourself whether they provide clarity or if you have other ideas. These related topics are briefly presented, as each could be a book in its own right. The gift of consultation as an active practice in our marriage is the ability to address any issue without conflict. We build understanding by sharing and listening to each other’s thoughts and feelings. Sometimes, that leads us to new actions, approaches, or life-changing decisions. We do our best to set aside our egos and attachment to our words, so the positive outcomes of the consultation can emerge.
