This most genuine sale on behalf of the Hollingshead Family results from their decision to cease milk production at Old Dalby Grange due to health issues.
The sale comprises 65 Cows and Heifers In milk and In calf, with all services being to the British Blue. These are strong, well conditioned cows that are milking well. Robots were installed back in 2006 so all are milkers are robot trained.
The cows are cubicle housed with management during the winter based on grass silage and blend fed on a TMR basis with concentrates fed in the robots. Although not officially milk recorded there is an extensive computer package that is run via the robots that records yields which are shown in the catalogue.

From Leek Town Centre take the A520 Cheddleton Road. At the first set of traffic lights turn right into Junction Road. Proceed through the houses and the entrance to the Market lies on the left hand side just before the “Pride of the Moorlands” Public House.
The Market is clearly sign posted on the A53 Newcastle to Leek Road and the A520 Leek to Cheddleton Road.
All cattle will be sold in the pound and settlement of all accounts shall be made in full immediately at the close of sale. The herd will be sold under Farm Sale Rules a copy of which can be obtained from the Auctioneers.
Intending Purchasers not known to the Auctioneers must produce, prior to bidding, an acceptable Banker’s Reference. Under new regulations introduced by the Banks, such references are now obtainable by the Bank’s customers themselves and have to be obtained by them direct from their Bank. Unless an acceptable Banker’s Reference is produced Payment is strictly Cash.
Persons unknown to the Auctioneers and who pay by cheque will have their goods impounded until cheques have cleared and the Auctioneers reserve the right to refuse the bid of any potential unknown customer.
