Dancing over the summer helps dancers maintain the skills they worked so hard to develop over the school year, learn new technique and build new skills! It is also the perfect time to try a new dance style to see if it's something you like! It's not too late to join a class for the summer! Register on the Backstage website or contact us at dancewithus@backstagedance.org.
We are offering weekly classes for all styles, ages and levels, June 24 through August 7. The seven-week session tuition is prorated for late starts, and drop-ins are available for classes that are Beginning 2, Beginning 3 and Intermediate level ($31.50 per class). We’d love for you to join us!
We have space availability in our 2-in-1, Dance/Gymnastics Camp and our Dance/Music Video Camp, both the week of July 29th, as well as our final Performing Arts Camp, Dreamhouse Slumber Party, August 5th-9th. Details below. REGISTER today!
Dance/Music Video Camp, Session 3: Now is your child’s chance to be one of Taylor Swift's backup dancers as they shine through the many eras of her biggest hits! Campers spend the week learning hip hop, jazz, and choreography for a music video filmed at Backstage Dance Studio! The video will be shared with all families the week after the camp. July 29 - August 2, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, ages 6-11.
2-in-1 Dance/Gymnastics Camp, Session 3: All the dance and gymnastics you love, with some arts, crafts, and music video-making mixed in! Spend your morning dancing at Backstage Dance Studio, then head next door to Gym East for an afternoon of tumbling. July 29 - August 2, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, ages 6-11.
Performing Arts Camp–Dreamhouse Slumber Party: Ever wanted to have a slumber party in Barbie’s Dreamhouse with your favorite doll? This dazzling jazz, creative movement and ballet dance camp offers just that! From exciting games, cute choreography and pink crafts, tiny dancers will make memories with their doll friends doing all things slumber party! August 5 - 9, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, ages 3-6.

Dance Intensive, August 12-16: Beginning/Intermediate Level
The emphasis of this week-long dance intensive will be on proper techniqu placement Classes are designed for the serious-minded dancer Daily class will vary, but each day will include a minimum of two hours for ballet and jazz/contemporary/modern technique. Other classes may include: Tap, Hip Slate and On-Camera Confidence, Convention Etiquette, Acro Technique, D History and Performance Tools. August 12-16, 12:30pm-4:30pm.
Dance Intensive, August 12-16: Intermediate/Advanced Level
The emphasis of this week-long dance intensive will be on proper technique and placement Classes are designed for the serious-minded dancer Daily classes will vary, but each day will include a minimum of three hours for ballet and jazz/contemporary/modern technique Other classes may include: Extreme Flexibility, Yoga, Tricks, Performance Choreography, Nutrition, Slate and OnCamera Confidence, Convention Etiquette, Improv, Psychology of Performance, Music Theory, Manners and Social Graces, Acro Technique, Dance History and Performance Tools. August 12-16, 9:00am - 5:00pm.
Dance Intensive, August 20-23: Intermediate Level
Prepare for the new dance season with a four-day dance intensive! Join us for four days of dancing, four hours per day (August 20-23, Tuesday through Friday, 10:00am to 2:30pm each day) The intensive will feature classes in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop and musical theater

Although August may feel like vacation time for Backstage since we don't offer as many classes, it is in fact one of our busiest months with planning! To continue serving our families the best we can, we are preparing for our upcoming year in full.

Staff CPR and first aid certification Dance intensive, August 12-16 and August 20-23 (SPACE IS STILL AVAILABLE!)
In addition, we are proud to require teacher training and teacher assistant training to keep our classrooms and faculty informed and prepared to teach utilizing the latest innovations and best teaching practices. Finally, we spend time in August organizing and restocking the studio for the upcoming dance season. We love taking the time to freshen up our spaces to create the best environment possible for our dance families.
