We are so LUCKY to have ALL of you as members of our dance community! It is our honor to dance with your kids each and every week! We are looking forward to an easier path with loosened COVID restrictions, hospitalizations down, and vaccinations up, and thank YOU for doing everything in your power to help our community recover. MARCH PARENTS' NIGHT OUT! Enjoy a night out while your kids spend the evening with Ms. Charmin! Participants will enjoy a dance class, pizza, a movie and popcorn! The featured movie for the evening is Disney's Tangled! For children ages 5 to 9. $35 per child, siblings are an additional $25 each. Register on the Backstage website, HERE.
Shamrock Spirit Week! Wear your green, gold, or special Shramrock spirit wear!! Make sure you can still move freely and dance it out! March 14 - 19!

COMPEtition TEAM NEWS Competition season is in full swing, and our dancers have been leaving it all on the dance floor! They have attended Hollywood Connection, NRG, Dancemakers, NUVO, and Spotlight just in the last few months and are representing Backstage with pride. Upcoming is Encore, Celebrity and Hollywood VIBE! Our STARS team is excited to go to their first competition April 22-24, and they will be doing Show and Share performances the week of March 28th to a few selected classes at Backstage. Be on the lookout!!
Footnotes Are you interested in our competitive program or just want to see some GREAT dancing? Support our Signature Competition Team on March 5th at Renton High School IKEA PAC. Dancers range from age 7 to 18 years old. More information is available on our website, showtime is 5pm, tickets are $25 and are available for purchase on the Backstage WEBSITE through March 3.

Short Sessions Back by popular demand! Offering a short 6 week session to test the waters in dance for our 4 and 5 year old kiddos! No long term commitment and lots of fun, movement and socialization for our youngest dancers!

Spring Show Updates! We can't wait to share A Whole New World with you in May! Our Spring Shows take place on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22 at Renton High School's IKEA Performing Arts Center. Show photos will take place during regular classes from Saturday, May 7 through Friday, May 13. The following week will, dancers will have the opportunity to wear their costumes again for dress rehearsals at the studio. Details regarding show assignments, dress rehearsal times, and photo week can be found on the Backstage website, HERE.

Spring Show Timeline March Students continue to learn new choreography and skills throughout the month of March. Attendance is important so dancers don't fall behind!

April Costumes begin to arrive and are passed out in class. Dancers continue to rehearse their show piece, as well as the Grande Finale Bow! Show tickets go on sale April 20!
The Final Countdown! Class pictures in costumes, May 7-13. Dress Rehearsals at the studio, May 16-19. SHOWTIME: May 21-22 !

Register for Summer Classes & Camps Beginning March 1st!
We are pleased to announce our camp and class offerings for Summer 2022! We are offering half-day performing arts camps for children ages 3 to 6 and fullday 2-in-1 dance/gymnastics camps to children ages 6 to 11. We are also offering seven weeks of classes in all dance styles and for all ages, June 13 through July 29. Registration opens March 1 on the Backstage website. We can't wait to dance with you this summer!

Top 3 Frequently Asked Questions for March! Is my child required to take a photo for the Spring Show? Individual spring show photos are optional, however, students who are not ordering photos are still required to come to class in their costume for a group class photo during photo week. Photos are taken by Nigel Cooper Photography and take place during class (May 7 through May 14). Photo ordering details will be emailed to all families in April.
Is tuition prorated for holiday breaks? The hourly rate for class tuition is based on the total number of classes over the course of the school-year session. This takes into account all holiday breaks. Therefore, tuition remains the same month-to-month, even in months where holiday breaks occur.
How do I get feedback on how my child is doing in their classes? We are currently assessing all of our dancers for future placement. Be on the lookout for feedback within your parent portal in the month of March. If you are concerned and need information right away, please email us and we will answer your questions! Our April Newsletter will have information regarding the path forward for your dancer as well!

Acceptance - Acknowledging reality just as is, without censoring or denying, while being open to possibilities. Did You Know? Music and movement together form a natural partnership in building both sides of our brain. Connecting the two sides of the brain allows for academic success, emotional stability and social development.
Your Opinion Matters! We'd love your feedback on class offerings for our 2022-2023 school year session. Be on the lookout for a short survey later this month--we'd appreciate your participation! Our schedule of classes for the 2022-2023 school year session will be available in early July!
Show Your Studio Pride & Win a Free Month of Classes!! Teachers handed out BDS car decals during the month of December and we're bringing them back this month in case you didn't get one! Decals will be available to pick up at the entrance to our main studio throughout the month of March. Update on Mask Requirements
With dropping COVID-related hospitalizations and deaths and increased vaccinations rates, Governor Jay Inslee announced on February 28th that masking indoors will become optional effective Saturday, March 12, 2022. We know this news comes as a relief to many and as a source of concern for others. Once the mask order is lifted on March 12, we will honor each family and staff member's right to choose to wear a mask or not. It will be vitally important that everyone is treated with respect, regardless of their choice.
