Fellow Cattlemen,
Welcome to our 67th Annual Bull and Female Sale! The cattle industry is so humbling, yet rewarding. We are grateful to our customers and friends that have been so good to our family over the years. The cattle business is in exciting times and changing rapidly. High quality cattle are commanding premiums and the fundamentals look to continue driving this market.
We work hard to offer bulls that are rugged and practical so they can go to work anywhere and hold up well. Our balanced, no-nonsense approach has created a genetic base with fertility, longevity, consistency and performance at its core.
Our offering is backed by females with a track record that speaks for itself. We strive to run our cow herd like any good commercial operation - limited inputs, high expectations. We remain committed to developing Dams of Distinction because efficient, fertile and productive females are the foundation of any successful cow herd.
We’re excited to add the fall 18 month old bulls and special fall bred heifers to the sale. Our fall herd started when we purchased part of Gary’s herd after his passing. To balance out the increased workload, we spread out our calving window. We will have a lot of high quality fall heifer calves coming down the pipe!
Thank you for your interest in our program. We love what we do and we’re excited to share our best offering yet. If you have questions or can’t attend the sale, we are happy to help you select bulls and heifers to fit your program. We appreciate your business and hope to see you on sale day!
Sincerely,
The Rausch Family

RECOGNIZING THE BEST
Why Dams of Distinction are Crucial to the Success of our Herd A cow receiving the Dam of Distinction honor is a cow that meets the highest standards of commercial cattle production. Only a few active cows are recognized. All heifers have the potential to be a Dam of Distinction, but only a small percentage fit the job description of an ideal cow year in and year out. Cows that qualify are signified with “DOD” in their pedigree.
To qualify, a cow must have:
• Produced at least three calves.
• Initially calved at 30 months of age or less.
• 370 day calving intervals (400 day as a heifer).
• Average progeny weaning weight ratio of 105 or higher.
EPDs
Catalog EPDs were current as of 1/6/2025. Supplement sheets with updated weights and scrotal measurements will be available on the website prior to sale day. All genomically tested animals will have the GE-EPD logo next to their information. If any animals are known carriers of genetic defects, it will be noted in the footnotes. EPD abbreviations are listed below.

BW: Birth Weight
WW: Weaning Weight

Indexes Explained
BALDY MATERNAL INDEX (BMI)
BMI is a maternally focused index that is based on a production system that uses Hereford x Angus cross cows. This index uses Sustained Cow Fertility, Weaning Weight, Mature Cow Weight, Milk, Dry Matter Intake, Carcass Weight, Marbling and Rib-eye Area. This index is geared to identify Hereford bulls that will be profitable when used in a rotational cross with mature commercial Angus cows.

CERTIFIED HEREFORD BEEF INDEX (CHB)
CHB is a terminal sire index that is built on a production system where Hereford bulls are mated to mature commercial Angus cows where all progeny will be targeted for the finishing phase. This index uses Carcass Weight, Marbling, Rib-eye Area, Average Daily Gain, Dry Matter Intake and BackFat.

These heifers are selected from the heart of our replacement pen. They are maternal and practical and many have breed leading EPDs. With the strong cow families behind them, we hope they will prove to be valuable breeding pieces in your program.
