About the Miss Black EIU Scholarship Pageant:
For over fifty years, the Black Student Union at Eastern Illinois University has been the proud sponsor of the Miss Black EIU Scholarship Pageant. The pageant has been the highlight of African American Heritage Month celebrations, while embodying a rich cultural tradition and legacy at EIU. Since its inception in 1971, the MBEIU Scholarship Pageant has been the cornerstone for celebrating African American culture, heritage, and achievements. The pageant has empowered countless African American women, while fostering a sense pride, appreciation, and cultural understanding. Over the years, numerous pageant contestants have embraced the opportunity to compete and represent Eastern's African American community. The 52nd MBEIU Scholarship Pageant showcases (7) exceptional African American women competing for scholarships, prizes, special awards, and the coveted crown of Miss Black EIU 2025.
