Martin and Esther went into the kitchen of their house. They noticed that there was a new gadget on the worktop. It was a big, square machine with its name written on the front: CHOF. They read the striking sign: “CHOF, the machine to help children to cook by themselves.”

The children looked at each other with a smile. They had both had the same idea: Test that machine called CHOF! The box noted that CHOF helps children to cook by themselves. Without any parents giving them orders. At that time, the children were alone in the kitchen. Dad was sitting in the living room, reading the news on his tablet. And mom was talking on the phone, moving around the house non-stop.

The children turned on CHOF and it started making unusual noises. Martin read some of the recipes that CHOF had programmed in its memory:

“Salad, cheese and ham sandwich, pizza.”

“PIZZA! Fantastic idea for dinner!” Martin shouted of joy.

Their parents would be very pleased to see the dinner cooked by the children. The children pressed the PIZZA button and CHOF turned on some little green and red lights.

To find out what Esther and Martin had to get from the fridge, look at the code tables on the last pages.

The children took a pizza base out of the fridge and spread it out. They pressed the CONTINUE button and some green lights turned red. The lights were indicating the next ingredient they needed and what to do with it.

You can find out what instructions CHOF gave to Martin and Esther by checking the light code tables.

Esther took a big red tomato from a drawer in the refrigerator and gave it to Martin. Martin washed it and put it into CHOF.

Then the machine showed them another combination of lights while making a noise which sounded like farting three times. The children laughed.

“At least

they don’t smell bad.”

Find out what happened to the tomato by checking the code tables.

Martin and Esther experiment with a magical pizza-making machine, but a mistake complicates everything. They keep trying until they get it right!
