Welcome to the DESLONDES HOTEL The Deslondes exists for those who believe the most meaningful experiences are never the most obvious.

Inspired by the layered spirit of New Orleans, the hotel invites guests to move beyond the expected and discover a world shaped by curiosity, connection, and atmosphere. Here, history is not presented as a lesson but experienced through fragments, impressions, and moments that reveal themselves over time.

Balancing memory and possibility, intimacy and celebration, The Deslondes offers a stay that feels deeply personal, quietly seductive, and uniquely connected to the city around it.

Some places are meant to be visited.

Others are meant to be discovered.

A name with MEANING Charles Deslondes is remembered as a central figure in the 1811 German Coast Uprising, one of the largest acts of resistance in American history.

More than two centuries later, his story remains part of the layered cultural fabric of Louisiana... a reminder that history is often shaped not only by those who hold power, but by those who challenge it.

Deslondes draws inspiration not from the events themselves, but from the spirit they represent: resilience, reinvention, self-expression, and the courage to imagine something different.

Hidden in PLAIN SIGHT Rather than retelling history explicitly, the design works through fragments; suggestive, atmospheric, and emotional.

Guests move through spaces where dualities coexist: concealment and revelation, restraint and release, intimacy and celebration.

Throughout the hotel, experiences unfold gradually rather than all at once. Views are framed rather than fully revealed. Pathways invite exploration. Moments of gathering emerge unexpectedly, while quieter spaces offer opportunities for reflection and retreat.

The design embraces ambiguity, allowing guests to form their own connections to the building, the city, and the stories that linger beneath the surface. What is remembered is not a singular narrative, but a collection of impressions...light through drapery, the sound of distant music, a hidden courtyard, a conversation that lasts longer than intended.

Like New Orleans itself, The Deslondes rewards curiosity. It reveals itself slowly, creating an atmosphere shaped as much by discovery as by design.

What is hidden is often what stays with us the longest.

FUSION of PAST and PRESENT The Deslondes unfolds across two distinct yet interconnected buildings: the Old House and the New House.

Together they create a dialogue between preservation and reinvention, memory and possibility.

The Old House carries the texture of time. Original architectural details, traces of age, and a deeply residential atmosphere connect guests to the building's history.

The New House looks forward. Contemporary forms, sculptural elements, and a lighter spatial language introduce a sense of movement and evolution.

Rather than existing in opposition, the two buildings depend upon one another. Each gives meaning to the other. Together they create an experience that feels both grounded and contemporary.

Designed for private dinners, wedding festivities, card games, and late-night conversations, the space embraces the quieter side of hospitality... where the most memorable moments often happen away from the crowd.

Rich materials, layered lighting, and a residential sensibility create an atmosphere that feels collected rather than formal. Flexible in function yet deeply personal in character, the room easily transitions from elegant celebration to intimate gathering.

Inspired by the city's long tradition of gathering, performance, and celebration, it is a space designed less around a specific function and more around what unfolds within it. A wedding dinner one evening. A jazz performance the next. An intimate celebration that stretches unexpectedly late.

Throughout New Orleans, some of the most memorable experiences happen in spaces that refuse to be defined by a single purpose. The Rendezvous embraces that same spirit. Flexible and immersive, it shifts effortlessly between celebration and conversation, performance and participation.

By day, sunlight filters through shutters and drapery, creating a relaxed and residential atmosphere. By night, the energy begins to build. Music drifts into the courtyard. Glasses gather on tables. Strangers become acquaintances and acquaintances become friends.

Original architectural elements are preserved wherever possible. Painted moldings, uneven plaster walls, and traces of age remain intentionally visible, allowing the building's history to become part of the experience.

These rooms feel collected rather than designed.

Layers of texture, softened light, and thoughtfully sourced furnishings create an atmosphere that is both deeply personal and quietly seductive.

The experience unfolds slowly. Morning light filters through drapery. Music drifts in from somewhere beyond. The boundary between preparation and indulgence begins to blur.

Bathrooms become part of the ritual rather than simply a function. Expansive dressing areas, soaking tubs, and layered lighting transform getting ready into an experience of its own.

the OLD HOUSE CABANA SUITES Positioned along the edge of the courtyard and overlooking the pool below, the Cabana Suites occupy a unique place within the rhythm of the hotel.
