Creating, developing, producing and distributing furnishing fabrics for 125 years, Rubelli is owned and directed by the fifth generation of the Venetian family of the same name. In 1889 the Rubelli family took over a similar textile company which had operated in Venice from 1700.

The brand portfolio also includes, alongside Rubelli Venezia, the proprietary brands Dominique Kieffer by Rubelli and Donghia, as well as the Armani Casa Exclusive Textiles

by Rubelli licence.

Each brand has its own specific identity and target.

The Group’s key collection, Rubelli Venezia, interprets an elegant and timeless style targeting quality-oriented consumers and those who have a love of fine things.

Rubelli Casa, launched in 2015, claims an original and unique place in the world of furniture, offering distinctive design pieces which elegantly combine Venetian architecture with Milanese design.

Dominique Kieffer, a French company taken over in 2001 and now called Dominique Kieffer by Rubelli, offers an understated and sophisticated style. The brand has worked with the architect and designer Paola Navone since 2013 and is especially popular with a younger audience, focused on innovation and fashion.

Developed and produced on the basis of a licensing agreement with Armani Casa in 2008, the Armani Casa Exclusive Textiles by Rubelli collection reflects in the designs and colours, the distinctive style of the label, oriented towards a sophisticated and fashion-conscious target.

Donghia, an American brand taken over by Rubelli in 2005, offers fabrics, wallpaper, furniture, lamps and furnishing accessories. Featuring an exclusive and glamorous style they represent real must-haves for members of the international jet set.

Dal 2013 il marchio si avvale della collaborazione dell’architetto e designer Paola Navone. E’ particolarmente apprezzato da una clientela più giovane e sensibile all’innovazione e alla moda.

Sviluppata e realizzata in base ad un accordo di licenza con Armani Casa nel 2008, la collezione Armani Casa Exclusive Textiles by Rubelli riflette nei disegni e nei colori lo stile inconfondibile della griffe, indirizzandosi ad un target sofisticato e fashion victim.

Donghia, marchio americano acquisito da Rubelli nel 2005, propone tessuti, carte da parati, mobili, lampade e complementi d’arredo. Caratterizzati da uno stile esclusivo e glamourous rappresentano un vero e proprio must have per gli appartenenti al jet set internazionale.

CONTRACT AND RESIDENTIAL FABRICS Realizzati prevalentemente in Italia all’interno della propria manifattura, i tessuti Rubelli sono sinonimo di eccellenza in ogni fase: dalla selezione dei filati alla definizione dei colori, dall’ideazione dei disegni alla produzione, dalla distribuzione fino all’assistenza pre e post vendita.

Rubelli produce sia tessuti per uso residenziale che contract.

La collezione residenziale presenta preziosi lampassi, una vasta serie di damaschi di ispirazione sia classica che contemporanea, innovativi uniti e falsi uniti, velluti, stampati, ricami, tende leggere e tessuti per decorazione in genere. Sono realizzati soprattutto con filati naturali (seta, cotone, lino, lana) ma anche con fibre artificiali e sintetiche, laddove necessario per ottenere specifici effetti di resistenza, elasticità, brillantezza.

La collezione contract, destinata a hotel, navi e spazi pubblici in genere, propone tessuti ignifughi conformi agli standard ministeriali italiani e in grado di soddisfare i principali requisiti di sicurezza internazionali.

Questi tessuti “tecnici”, oltre che ignifughi, sono anche più resistenti. Il loro livello qualitativo nel corso degli anni è cresciuto molto: belli esteticamente, piacevoli al tatto e con disegni sempre nuovi, vengono utilizzati sempre più frequentemente in tutti i Paesi anche in ambito residenziale. E’ inoltre possibile, in presenza di richieste particolari, realizzare in qualità ignifuga disegni della collezione residenziale.

Produced mainly in Italy at its own mill, Rubelli fabrics are a byword for excellence in every phase, from selecting the yarns to defining the colour palettes, from creating the designs to production, from manufacture to assistance before and after sales.

Rubelli produces fabrics for both residential and contract uses.

The residential collection presents precious lampas, a vast range of damask of both classic and contemporary inspiration, innovative plain and faux uni fabrics, velvet, prints, embroidery, light curtains and fabrics for decoration.

They are made above all with natural yarns (silk, cotton, linen and wool) but also with artificial, synthetic fibres where specific effects of strength, elasticity and shine are needed.

The contract collection for hotels, shops and public spaces in general offers flame-retardant fabrics in line with Italian ministerial standards and able to meet the main international safety requirements.

These “technical” fabrics, as well as being flame retardant, also offer greater strength. The quality level has increased enormously over the years: with an attractive appearance, pleasing to the touch and with patterns that are new each time, they are used increasingly often in all countries also in residential contexts. Designs from the residential collection can also be made in a flame-retardant version on special request.

2015 marks Rubelli’s entry into the world of furniture, to claim its original and unique space in the home and furniture world.

Born in Venice and Milan, the first RUBELLI CASA collection encapsulates the special features of the two cities: the exuberance and taste for decoration of the first are offset by the restraint and rationality of the second, the undisputed capital of Italian design.

Rubelli Casa includes upholstered furniture, desks, bookcases, cabinets, tables and chairs with unusual shapes and original lines, always reassuring and totally contemporary, in a balanced mix of design and decoration.

Diverse materials and multiple finishes have been used, from wenge to rosewood via cane and leather and, obviously, fabrics. With the possibility of dressing the upholstered furniture in “outfits” which are new each time and which can be selected from the hundreds of articles of the Group’s four brands, available in thousands of versions.

Il 2015 segna l’ingresso nel settore del mobile di Rubelli, che rivendica così un proprio spazio originale e unico nel mondo della casa e dell’arredo.

Nata tra Venezia e Milano, la prima collezione RUBELLI CASA porta in sé i tratti peculiari delle due città: all’esuberanza e al gusto per la decorazione della prima fanno da contrappunto la riservatezza e la razionalità della seconda, capitale indiscussa del design italiano.

Rubelli Casa comprende imbottiti, scrivanie, librerie, mobili contenitori, tavoli e sedie: forme insolite e linee originali, sempre rassicuranti e di assoluta contemporaneità, in un equilibrato mix di design e decorazione.

Diversi i materiali utilizzati e molteplici le finiture: dal legno wengé al palissandro, passando per la paglia di Vienna e la pelle e, ovviamente, il tessuto: con la possibilità di vestire gli imbottiti con “abiti” sempre nuovi, selezionabili dalle centinaia di articoli dei quattro marchi del Gruppo, declinati in migliaia di varianti.

Donghia, azienda americana di mobili, tessuti, luci e complementi d’arredo, dal 2005 fa parte del Gruppo Rubelli.

Angelo Donghia, il designer italiano che l’ha fondata negli anni Settanta, è stato l’artefice di uno stile unico, inimitabile e inconfondibile. Un lifestyle raffinato e senza tempo, capace di combinare al meglio il design contemporaneo con quello tradizionale: glamorous, ma senza eccessi, in un perfetto equilibrio di comfort ed eleganza.

Uno stile a cui l’attuale direttore creativo, Chuck Chewning, ha saputo dare continuità: proponendo nuove collezioni di mobili, luci e accessori realizzati con maestria artigianale e utilizzando materiali pregiati. Per la produzione di tessuti, Rubelli si avvale della propria tessitura di Cucciago, in provincia di Como.

Con 60 addetti e 28 telai jacquard elettronici di ultimissima generazione, Rubelli realizza circa mezzo milione di metri di tessuto all’anno tra lampassi, damaschi, broccati, liseré, uniti, falsi uniti, ignifughi in poliestere FR e Trevira CS. A questi si aggiungono preziosi velluti a mano che è tuttora possibile realizzare con i quattro telai del Settecento ancora funzionanti.

La tessitura rappresenta un vero e proprio valore aggiunto che oggi pochissime aziende tessili possono vantare. E’ fondamentale per mettere a punto nuove tipologie di tessuti, nuovi intrecci, nuovi abbinamenti di filati che consentono di creare collezioni sempre innovative e accattivanti.

With a staff of 60 and 28 state-of-the-art electronic jacquard looms Rubelli manufactures approximately half a million metres of fabric a year - lampas, damask, brocade, liseré and plain and faux uni fabrics. This is in addition to the precious handmade velvet which can even now be made on the four eighteenth-century looms still in working order.

The weaving-mill represents a true added value which nowadays few textile companies can boast. It is essential for developing new types of fabrics, new weaves, new combinations of yarns which allow the creation of always innovative and appealing collections.

The skill of the designers in the style department (including expert textile historians), the company’s historical archive which holds over 7000 textile documents and, last but not least, the company owned mill that enables various sample ranges to be produced and tested, are the assets that make of Rubelli the ideal partner for clients with special requirements.

Special types and patterns are made on the basis of very specific and at times decidedly complex requests from museums, theatres of world renown, historic homes, palazzos and also international designers. The impressive stage curtain made for the Bolshoi theatre in Moscow, woven with gold yarn, the precious damask for the Albertina museum in Vienna, the brocade for the Italian royal palaces at Monza, Venice and Genoa and the Gritti Palace in Venice or the Excelsior Gallia in Milan are just a few of Rubelli’s projects in recent years.

WALLCOVERING Dal 2013 Rubelli Venezia ha inserito nelle sue collezioni di tessuti anche una collezione di carte di parati. Walls of Venice I e II sono espressione della creatività dell’ufficio stile e del livello tecnico e qualitativo di una produzione rigorosamente Made in Italy.

Motivi iconici delle collezioni di tessuto, come il San Marco o il Vendramin, vengono riprodotti su carte da parati conferendo loro un aspetto più contemporaneo grazie anche alla gamma di colori proposta. Completano la collezione disegni più attuali, come il Reticolo e il Venier, o ironici, come la Principessa Kocacin o romantici, come il Lady Roxana.

Di grande impatto nella collezione 2015 il Gran Canal Wall, una riproduzione in quattro metri per tre di un’incisione di Venezia dei primi del Settecento del vedutista Luca Carlevarjis.

In 2013 Rubelli also included a wallpaper collection among its fabrics collections. Walls of Venice 1 and 2 are the manifestation of the creativity of the style department and the technical and high quality of the strictly Italian-made products.

Iconic motifs from the fabric collections, such as the San Marco or Vendramin, are reproduced on wallpaper to give a more contemporary look thanks also to the colour range available.

More modern patterns, such as the Reticolo and Venier, or quirky ones such as Principessa Kocacin or romantic types such as Lady Roxana also form part of the collection.

High impact is achieved by Gran Canal Wall, a reproduction of an engraving of Venice in the early eighteenth century by the vedutista Luca Carlevarjis in the 2015 collection.

Rubelli has entered the world of rugs with an offering of top-quality products. Made in Tibet on wooden looms, all the rugs are carded and woven by hand using prized Tibetan wool, pure silk and viscose.

Patterns, colours, sizes and shapes are studied carefully to create exclusive unique and custom-made pieces. Rubelli can, in this way, satisfy clients with the highest requirements by offering custom-made articles. These impressive creations are ideal for furnishing private homes, museums, showrooms, hotels, restaurants or projects linked to yachting.

Finally, by specific client request and above all in the yachting sector, Rubelli is able also to supply home linens.

Interessanti anche l’accordo di co-marketing con Santoni - marchio italiano di calzature di lusso per la realizzazione di collezioni di scarpe e borse Rubelli|Santoni, e la collaborazione con Acqua di Parma per un importante progetto editoriale promosso dalla casa di profumi del Gruppo LVMH. The working partnerships finalised by Rubelli in recent years with companies and other institutions are numerous and varied.

In addition to the Armani Casa Exclusive Textiles by Rubelli licence, signed with the Armani maison to produce the fabrics collection, Rubelli has set up partnerships with other famous fashion companies (Fendi, Missoni), important furniture producers (Molteni, Moroso, Cassina) and well-known majors and theatres (Arena di Verona, La Fenice in Venice, Walt Disney, Universal).

RUBELLI AND ART Rubelli ha spesso legato il suo nome alla cultura sostenendo musei, supportando giovani designers, organizzando mostre e promuovendo eventi in Italia e all’estero.

Il progetto “Acqua Alta” dei due giovani designers Zanellato/Bortotto, le mostre “Un filo di Seta bianco” e “Rosso Reale” (entrambe ideate e progettate dall’azienda), il supporto al Fai e a vari musei veneziani, Peggy Guggenheim in primis, sono solo alcune delle iniziative promosse da Rubelli in ambito culturale negli ultimi anni.

Nel 2012, inoltre, l’azienda veneziana ha pubblicato il libro “Rubelli - Una storia di seta a Venezia” - edito da Marsilio ed in vendita nelle migliori librerie in italia e all’estero.

The Rubelli name has often been linked to culture with its support for museums and young designers, organisation of exhibitions and promotion of events in Italy and other countries.

The Acqua Alta project by the two young designers Zanellato/Bortotto, the exhibitions Un Filo di Seta Bianco and Rosso Reale (both devised and designed by the company), support for FAI and various Venice museums, Peggy Guggenheim first and foremost, are just some of the cultural schemes promoted by Rubelli in recent years.

In 2012 the Venice company also brought out the book Rubelli - Una Storia di Seta a Venezia, published by Marsilio and on sale in the best bookshops in Italy and elsewhere.

RÉSIDENTIEL PRIVÉ & CONTRACT Réalisés majoritairement en Italie, au sein de l’usine de l’entreprise, les tissus Rubelli sont synonymes d’excellence à chacune des étapes de leur création : de la sélection des fils à la définition des coloris, du design à la production, de la distribution au service client ; Rubelli réalise ainsi des articles qui se destinent tant à un usage privé résidentiel qu’à celui de projets d’hôtellerie ou de lieux publics.

La collection destinée au résidentiel offre une source quasi inépuisable de lampas précieux, damas d’inspiration classique et contemporaine, unis et faux-unis originaux, velours, imprimés, dentelles ou bien encore voilages, une vaste gamme en somme de tissus destinés à tout type de décoration. Ils sont tissés à l’aide de fils naturels (soie, coton, lin, laine, métal…) ou font appel parfois aux fibres artificielles et synthétiques, afin de garantir alors un éclat, une souplesse ou bien encore une résistance pérennes.

La collection Contract destinée à l’hôtellerie, à l’industrie du luxe, aux navires de croisière et plus largement ainsi à des espaces publics, édite des tissus ignifugés répondant aux normes en vigueur, satisfaisant ainsi les exigences internationales les plus strictes en matière de sécurité. Ces tissus « techniques » sont non seulement non-feu, mais également plus résistants. Avec les années, leur niveau de qualité n’a cessé de croître : esthétiquement réussis, agréables au toucher, offrant des motifs toujours plus

inventifs, ils rencontrent un succès grandissant dans tous les pays, y compris pour l’usage résidentiel. L’entreprise assure également, sur demande, la transposition de modèles de la collection résidentielle en qualité ignifuge.

RUBELLI CASA L’année 2015 marque l’entrée de Rubelli dans le secteur du mobilier, qui se réserve ainsi un espace très personnel et une place spécifique dans l’univers de la maison et de la décoration. Née entre Venise et Milan, la première collection Rubelli Casa porte en elle les caractéristiques des deux villes : à l’exubérance et au goût pour la décoration de la première s’opposent la réserve et l’esprit rationnel de la seconde, indiscutable capitale du design italien.

La collection comporte aussi bien canapés, fauteuils ou chaises tapissés, que tables, consoles, bureaux, bibliothèques ou bien encore meubles de rangement. Les formes insolites et les lignes inédites à la fois rassurantes et d’une modernité absolue, s’associent en un mélange équilibré de design et de décoration. Les matériaux sont aussi divers que les finitions proposées, allant du wengé au palissandre, en passant par la paille de Vienne ou le cuir, sans oublier les centaines de tissus que propose les différentes marques du groupe pour habiller chacun des modèles, Rubelli Casa offre ainsi des milliers de combinaisons possibles.

DONGHIA Donghia, société américaine spécialisée dans le mobilier, le tissu d’ameublement, le papier-peint, les luminaires et accessoires de décoration, fait partie du Groupe Rubelli depuis 2005. Angelo Donghia, designer italien à l’origine de l’entreprise dans les années 70, a créé un style unique, incomparable et inimitable. Un style de vie à la fois raffiné et intemporel, associant lignes contemporaines et classiques : un design séduisant mais sans extravagance, qui allie le confort à l’élégance. Chuck Chewning, actuel directeur artistique, inscrit la création dans cette continuité : les dernières collections de meubles, de luminaires et d’accessoires conjuguent savoir-faire artisanaux et matériaux nobles. Les créations Donghia, soignées jusque dans le moindre détail, résultent d’une démarche innovante qui ne trahit jamais l’esprit de la marque et la philosophie du fondateur, dont l’ambition était de créer des espaces d’habitation sur mesure, à la façon d’une robe de haute-couture.

PRODUCTION Les tissus Rubelli sont essentiellement fabriqués dans l’usine textile que détient l’entreprise en propre à Cucciago, dans la région de Côme. 60 employés et 28 métiers à tisser jacquard de dernière génération produisent environ un demi-million de mètres de tissu par an entre lampas, damas, brocarts, lisérés, unis, faux unis, textiles ignifuges en fibres polyester non-feu ou Trevira CS. Viennent s’y ajouter des velours précieux, élaborés à la main, sur les quatre métiers à tisser datant du 18ème siècle, qui sont encore utilisés aujourd’hui. L’usine textile du groupe constitue une valeur ajoutée dont peu d’entreprises du secteur peuvent encore actuellement se targuer. Elle est indispensable à la mise au point et à l’élaboration de nouvelles typologies de tissus et de tissages, à de nouvelles combinaisons de fils, qui permettent de créer des collections toujours plus innovantes et captivantes.

DISTRIBUTION Rubelli exporte ses collections dans le monde entier avec l’intermédiaire de ses propres filiales et showrooms ainsi que son réseau d’agents et de distributeurs exclusifs. En Italie, outre le siège historique de Venise sur le Grand Canal, l’entreprise est présente sur des sites prestigieux à Milan et à Rome. Elle est aussi représentée dans les principales villes européennes à Paris, Londres, Bruxelles, Moscou, Kiev et au Moyen-Orient, à Dubai.

Aux Etats-Unis, outre le magnifique showroom inauguré en 2011 à New-York, le Groupe Rubelli couvre l’ensemble du territoire, d’Atlanta à Dallas, de Los Angeles à Washington D.C., avec pas moins de 12 showrooms dédiés à la distribution des tissus Rubelli et des produits Donghia.

PAPIER PEINTS Depuis 2013 Rubelli ajoute à ses collections de tissus, une gamme de papiers peints exclusifs. Les collections Walls of Venice I et II traduisent la créativité du bureau de style et le niveau technique et qualitatif d’une production rigoureusement Made in Italy. Certains modèles iconiques de tissus comme les célèbres San Marco ou Vendramin, sont reproduits sur papiers peints et acquièrent un aspect plus contemporain grâce à l’éventail de nouvelles colorations proposées. Des thèmes plus actuels, comme Reticolo et Venier, humoristiques avec Principessa Kocacin par exemple, ou romantiques tels que Lady Roxana viennent compléter l’offre.

Le modèle phare de la collection 2015, Gran Canal Wall, reproduit en un panoramique de quatre mètres par trois, une gravure de Venise du védutiste Luca Carlevarjis, datant du début du 18ème siècle.

NOUVEAUTÉS L’entreprise a investi aussi l’univers du tapis et propose des articles de qualité exceptionnelle. Réalisés au Tibet, sur des métiers à tisser en bois, tous les tapis sont cardés et filés à la main en laines tibétaines précieuses, pure soie et viscose. PROJETS SPECIAUX Grâce aux talents des designers du bureau de style et aux historiens du tissu qui y sont attachés, à son fonds d’archives historiques répertoriant plus de 7.000 documents textiles, à son usine en propre qui permet d’expérimenter et de diversifier les qualités, Rubelli est le partenaire idéal des prescripteurs exigeants et designers de renom. L’entreprise élabore ainsi régulièrement des motifs et des tissus « spéciaux » en fonction de commandes – parfois très complexes – destinées à des musées, des théâtres, des demeures historiques ou bien encore des palaces privés.

L’imposant rideau de scène du Théâtre du Bolchoï de Moscou tissé avec du fil d’or, les somptueux damas réalisés pour le musée de l’Albertina de Vienne, les brocarts ornant les Palais Royaux italiens de Monza, Venise, Gênes, les nombreux articles réalisés pour le Palais Gritti de Venise ou l’Excelsior Gallia à Milan, tout comme bien d’autres projets encore, au caractère confidentiel, sont autant de prestations à inscrire à l’actif de la Maison Rubelli.
