In 2005 Donghia was purchased by the Rubelli Group, an established Italian family business, allowing the brand to grow and flourish internationally.

Through the leadership of Chuck Chewning, the company’s design profile continues to evolve, fitting into any décor: traditional, contemporary, or eclectic mix.

onghia reflects the innovative design spirit of its founder Angelo Donghia, as well as the passion of its present Creative Director Chuck Chewning. Both of these design leaders, one the founder and one the future, have offered Donghia their diverse skills and exceptional talent in making Donghia the successful company it has become.

Angelo was the first to expound a new approach to decoration: rather than design a fantasy interior, he created a luxurious, liveable, comfortable environment.

His work focused in the areas of residential, hospitality and contract interior design. His contract projects included the Opera Club at the New York Metropolitan Opera, the headquarters of PepsiCo, the St. Andrew’s Club in Florida.

He was so involved with the high society of the ’70 and ’80 that he became the favourite designer of many prominent celebrities and personalities of those years.
