What we offer Service lines and markets we serve Azets Romania was established in 2008 supporting Norway, Denmark, Sweden and the UK by providing high quality nearshored Payroll and Accountancy services.

Through our 800+ talented people, operating from six locations across Romania, we process in excess of 850K hours per year. Romania also provides resources / services to our core Group teams in Azets including MI, IT (Development including RPA & Support), HR and Marketing / Communications. Romania will continue to increase its strategic importance to the Group as we continue nearshoring production and support activity from the Nordics and UK over the years ahead.

About our leader Alina Burja, MD for Azets Romania I joined Azets in 2008 and developed my career becoming the Managing Director for Azets Romania in 2013 . I enjoyed 20 years working as a certified accountant in diverse sectors such as automotive & technology and also managed my own business for two years.

I’m pleased to say thanks to the fantastic people I have the pleasure of working with every day, who continually strive to improve the service we provide from Romania putting quality and client service delivery first, that I could not be prouder of the team and capability Azets has established in Romania. It’s a pleasure and a privilege to lead the team.

Our ambition in Romania is to support our colleagues further in the Nordics and UK through strategically increasing processing activity undertaken in Romania which in turn will allow more time to be spent onshore developing, enhancing and growing our client relationships.

Romania now provides processing support for over 4800 payroll clients and over 5400 accountancy clients across the Nordics and UK.

The Five Pillars at a glance: Talented Smart People In Romania, we have an exceptionally high workforce. Providing career paths for our people is very important and we are pleased that 90% of our managers have been developed in the business and progressed their careers with us. Looking forward, we will introduce a more formalised career development programme aimed at providing a structure, with associated training and development activities, which will allow our talented people to thrive personally and professionally, whilst meeting the processing needs of our current and future clients.

These actions will reduce attrition and retain the important competencies and skills which will underpin our vision to increase the strategic importance of Romania within Azets and be ‘The First Choice for Production & Support Services in Azets Group’.

Ambitious Growth Romania has grown significantly in recent years with further ambitious plans to both increase the percentage of production hours completed, alongside the complexity of processing activity, on behalf of the Nordics allowing Nordic colleagues to focus more time on growth and client engagement.

Whilst Romania has predominately provided services to the Nordics, there is significant opportunity to increase support for the UK which has driven the introduction of a specific UK nearshoring programme, noting Romania already provides payroll and accountancy services on behalf of Blick Rothenberg.

We also expect to see continued growth across our group activities provided from Romania with activity already inflight to support colleagues across a number of areas including Risk & Compliance.

Effective Technology Romania aims to support Azets in the Nordics and UK by providing as high quality, reliable and predictable production activity as possible. To further optimise our service delivery, we will be driving the use of digital process management tools which will highlight opportunities to eliminate waste in processes, refine required production activities and automate processing.

Personalised Client Service We will continue to work closely with colleagues across the UK and Nordics to increase engagement with onshore countries to establish the skills, capabilities and competencies that will be both required to increase nearshore production activity completed today for existing clients and understand future needs as our services evolve to meet the changing needs and expectations of our future end clients.

Alongside process optimisation we will be looking to use technology more proactively to highlight potential production errors as part of our business assurance framework and proactively highlight production timeliness risks to allow proactive management intervention before risks become problems.

With increased production from Romania, providing the highest quality services back to our colleagues in the Nordics and UK will be critical. Romania will become a fully trusted partner ensuring that we fully capitalise on the benefits associated with nearshoring without the need for margin eroding onshore quality assurance activity and rework.

Operational Excellence We are engaged in both the development, ongoing management & support of some of Azets core applications such as Azets CoZone alongside developing and supporting several RPA initiatives aimed at releasing valuable hours back to the business, allowing colleagues onshore to spend more valuable time both engaging with and driving growth from both existing and new clients.

As we increase production activity, we will also see more direct client engagement which will transition Romania from being the internal outsourcer to a more integral part of the client service journey.

We will continue to grow our technology capabilities, leveraging and embracing the latest technologies to both further improve efficiency, quality, and the reliability of our production services. Alongside technology we will formally introduce a Continuous Improvement function in Romania who will be trained in Lean principles to embed a culture of continually challenging our operating approach, reengineering, and optimising processes and identifying opportunities to automate processing activity, all to further increase quality, efficiency, and production reliability.

This activity will increase in importance as we continue to transition production activities from the Nordics & UK, driving a need for Romania to take a leading role in production optimisation.
