SEASONAL ALLERGIES ON THE RISE AS NEW WORLD TREE BLOOMS

GUEST REPORTER: Lois Laine

The Dragon Isles, where dragons soar and magic reigns supreme, residents are facing an unexpected challenge this spring: Seasonal Allergies Dracythr trained and fierce warriors have never battled against pollen like never before seen in the island's rich history, all thanks to the recent introduction of the majestic World Tree, Amirdrassil

As the towering Amirdrassil bursts into bloom with its vibrant blossoms, so too do the pollen levels skyrocket, leaving the usual residents in a haze of sneezes and sniffles Never before have they had to contend with such a formidable foe, and the pollen count is only rising

Even the mighty dragons, with their scales and fiery breath, are not immune to the perils of pollen "I've never seen anything like it," grumbled Drakar the Magnificent, a renowned elder dragon "One moment I'm soaring through the skies, and the next, I'm wheezing like a hatchling with a cold It's positively undignified!"

Within the chaos and tissue shortages, there is a glimmer of hope Local alchemists and herbalists have been working tirelessly to concoct potions and remedies to alleviate the symptoms of seasonal allergies From enchanted nasal sprays to herbal teas infused with dragonwort, they're pulling out all the stops to provide relief to the suffering masses.

While the pollen may be relentless, so too is the resilient spirit of the Dracythr "We may be fierce warriors, but even we have our

weaknesses," declared Quariah Thunderscale "But mark my words, we will not be defeated by a mere speck of pollen We will rise above this challenge, just as we have risen above all others."

As the petals of Amirdrassil continue to dance in the breeze, the residents of the Dragon Isles brace themselves for the coming weeks of sneezing, sniffling, and watery eyes. But through it all, they remain steadfast in their determination to conquer this new foe

SUPERNATURAL SIGHTINGS

SPUR MYSTERY AT HARBOR PORT

GUEST REPORTER: Mavvi Solarvale

The coastal region of Stromgarde, Arathi Highlands, known for its rolling hills, agriculture and connection with the elements of Azeroth, is abuzz with whispers and tales of ghostly encounters at its centuries-old fort and throughout the surrounding area The historic fort, which has stood guard over the coastline for centuries, is now gaining attention for reasons beyond its architectural and military significance.

In recent weeks, several residents of both the fort of Stromgarde Keep, and farmers in the surrounding homesteads have reported eerie experiences: voices echoing down empty hallways, white floating figures, and unexplained sightings That the mystery has developed so close to the Keep’s stone walls has sparked debate throughout the community. Initially these occurrences were reported by guards, merchant traders, and farmers, and this week the Bright Abbess Sandra herself heard a message from one of the apparitions: “The queen will restore the great human

kingdoms.”

Speculation has reached a fever pitch Nearly a dozen people claim to have seen the apparitions No two residents seem to have the same theory Some believe that the restless spirits of soldiers and sailors may still roam the Keep, unable to find peace Nordric and Greta Albrite, a couple who owns the farm closest to Stromgarde Keep shared their differing opinions on the matter Nordric Albrite claims the ghosts have traveled from Gilneas, across the bay, and are dangerous He attacks them on sight Greta Albrite views them as heralds promising a better life to the homesteaders if Calia Menethil assumes the throne. Their farmhand, who asked to remain anonymous, claims that the spirits will approach him in the field and are pleasant to speak with while working

Some residents argue that these sightings can be attributed to the power of suggestion or mere tricks of light Others believe that the Keep’s rich history and connection with the elements, turbulent past, and proximity to Forsaken settlements may hold the key to these paranormal phenomena Constructed during a time of conflict and located in a place of strategic importance, Stromgarde Keep has witnessed its fair share

of battles, tragedies, pirates, and lives lost at sea Local historian, Deneb Walker, shed some light on the Keep’s history but scoffs at the idea of ghosts, “Stromgarde has seen its fair share of bloodshed and sorrow over the years It’s not uncommon for historic sites like this to be associated with ghostly legends and tales of the supernatural. I’ve seen no evidence of any spirits and I think if there are sightings it’s pure mischief ”

As news of the ghost sightings have spread, visitors from across Azeroth and beyond have expressed interest in exploring the Keep’s mysteries Vikki Lonsav, innkeeper, was witness to an eerie specter herself, and even so is delighted that more visitors are arriving daily in the Arathi Highlands. She shared her experience, “I saw a figure standing by an old cannon, they turned to me, and seemed to be

Saying something I couldn’t quite make out As I approached I realized I could see right through them The closer I got, the more translucent they became until they vanished into thin air!”

Whether you’re a skeptic or a believer, one thing is certainthe ghostly tales of Stromgarde Keep have added a new layer of intrigue to this area’s rich history. One can’t help but wonder what secrets the fort’s walls hold and who or what may be visiting For now, the ghostly sightings remain an unsolved mystery, leaving residents and visitors alike fascinated and slightly spooked by the tales of Stromgarde's spectral inhabitants

BORULAS AUTHORITIES LAUNCH MANHUNT

GUEST REPORTER: Trent Crimble

In a brazen act of piracy, a cargo ship belonging to The Maritime Affairs, an esteemed trading company was attacked on the high seas by a notorious band of pirates called The Rogue Cutlass The "Sea Serpent," a vessel renowned for her expeditions across the Great Sea, fell victim to the ruthless raiders in the dead of night

Eyewitness accounts from surviving crew members detail a harrowing scene of chaos and violence as the pirates descended upon the ship with swords drawn and cannons blazing Two members of The

Maritime Affairs were gravely injured in the onslaught and are currently receiving treatment under the care of the local tidesages

"The pirates struck swiftly and without warning," said Captain Marcus Ironside, commander of the "Sea Serpent " "They were ruthless in their pursuit of plunder, showing no mercy to anyone who stood in their way."

Authorities in Boralus have launched a massive manhunt to apprehend the pirates responsible for the attack Led by the vigilant Boralus Guard and supported by the powerful magic of the tidesages, the search efforts are focused on tracking down the perpetrators and bringing them to justice

"We will not rest until these criminals are brought to justice," declared head of the Boralus Guard "The safety and security of our waters must be upheld, and those who seek to disrupt the peace will face the full force of the law "

The stolen cargo, consisting of valuable goods destined for trade across Azeroth, remains unaccounted for. The Maritime Affairs has vowed to spare no expense in recovering their lost assets and ensuring that such an audacious attack does not happen again

As the investigation into the pirate raid continues, the people of Boralus remain on edge, wary of further acts of piracy that threaten the prosperity and stability of their beloved city In the meantime, the hunt for the perpetrators intensifies, with hopes high that justice will soon be served

DRAGON ISLES HERBS, PT

2 UNCOMMON HERBS

REPORTER: Kalimeris Embersong

Like many, I have traveled the Dragon Isles filled with wonder at the beauty of the landscape and unique plants that grow there Embracing the wisdom of nature, these herbs offer a promising avenue for those looking to enhance the well-being of their patients and achieve a harmonious balance between mind, body, and spirit Many thanks go to the Keepers in the Dragon Isles, their help has been instrumental Special thanks to Winnie Fingerspring for sharing her notes on flora and fauna. My research has focused on two branches of Dragon Isles plants: common herbs, often considered the four major plant species of the Dragon Isles, which was published in a previous

edition of the Azeroth Times, and uncommon ones There are so many uncommon herbs, and their uses so fascinating that I am presenting them in a format to make them easily referenced for further study or use by others

Cuppressa - when ripe the oils of the berry-like cones are commonly used to reduce fluid build up and lower blood pressure, and can be distilled into a piney scented alcohol For use as a diuretic the cone is soaked in alcohol, releasing the oil into a tincture and then administered in small amounts. Alternately, the cones can be pressed and the released oil can be distilled into an alcohol The alcohol can be used to prevent pathogens from entering an injection site if swabbed over

the area first and left to dry for 30 seconds

Dropcap - the bloom of this plant leaks an oil when it is ripe, this oil is highly prized as a fire accelerant Collect it carefully and keep it away from open flame

Fangtooth - the petals of this flowering plant are extremely poisonous, the centaur of the Ohn’ahran Plains use a paste made from the Fangtooth petals to coat their arrows for big game huntsthe meat surrounding where the arrow struck the animal is inedible unless boiled. The naturally occurring toxins in the Fangtooth petals target cardiac function If anyone is accidentally scratched with a Fangtooth poison tipped arrow an

antidote is required One leading antidote is made of Kingsblood, which does not grow in the wild on the Dragon Isles, but many healers and apothecaries will have tinctures of Kingsblood on hand for emergencies

Gratona - the large seeds from this plant can be crushed into a hydrating salve that makes a great moisturizer for scaled beings The naturally high level of fat in the seeds makes it an effective and soothing anti-inflammatory lotion for sensitive or irritated skin If you are lucky enough to find a Gratona plant, take a seed or two for your own use, but leave the roots where they are growing Dragons and dragonkin have been using Gratona seed lotion for centuries, yet Gratona plants have

Azeroth Times FISKEPUBLISHING

not been observed growing in greenhouses in any area of the Dragon Isles It’s possible they can only grow in the wild

Magnificent Flower - as beautiful as its name implies, this flower’s pollen has properties that make it an ideal anesthetic The magnificent flower can be grown indoors and in pots making it a must-have for medics across Azeroth The stored pollen can be used to desensitize the patient to pain when administered in a draught or topically Other preparations of the magnificent flower pollen can be injected prior to procedures such as surgery. The pollen loses potency over time but thankfully these massive flowers are abundant and earty, even observed growing in pots in the dim light of the Zaralek Caverns

Milkweed - attractive to butterflies throughout their lifecycle, this plant is named for the white, milky sap that leaks out when the stems are cut This sap is caustic to the skin in most cases and should be rinsed off immediately to prevent further irritation If harvested and dried during the autumn, the fibers can be used to line winter clothes, and insulate cold weather dwellings In the spring, these dried fibers can be left outdoors for birds to use as nesting material

Nectar Filled Panthis - the beautiful panthis flowers are another favorite of early pollinators. The bowl shaped flower creates a well for the nectar to pool The nectar can be harvested by simply tipping the blossom into a container The flower will continue to produce nectar that can either be harvested again or left for pollinating insects. The nectar can be refined over low

heat and will leave a sugary syrup that is suitable for cooking Bitter medicinal draughts and teas can also benefit from the Panthis Nectar by making them more palatable for your patient. Nectar sugars are a chemically balanced sugar so it is tolerated by nearly everyone

Ritherem - The petals of the delicate, lavender colored blossoms of the Ritherem plant can be dried and ground into a fine powder This power will act as a natural clotting agent and is a must-have for frontline medics Traditional use would indicate application of the Ritherem powder directly to the wound with a bandage or poultice It can be effectively used to stop heavy bleeding by following these steps: First, sprinkle the powder onto the wound which will help speed up blood coagulation and clotting. If the wound is large, pack a sterile dressing deep into the wound and finally, apply continuous pressure until the bleeding is controlled

Singing River Bell - just as the name suggests this blue and yellow flowering plant is often found along the riverbanks on the Ohn’ahran Plains The water of the Ohn’ahran River is naturally mineral rich, and this infuses the River Bell bulbs with minerals and plant based vitamins The bulbs will often be seen above ground in mature plants and can be rinsed clean of dirt and eaten straight away (though they are a little tough) or a more delicious preparation is to roast and eat them sliced with a little salt, or in other prepared foods as you would any root vegetable

Shiversnap Blossom - this beautiful icy blue flower is crystalized and makes a lovely gift Medicinal uses include using the natural chilling effects of the flower to cool a fevered brow

Thaldraszus Bloom - the root of this herb can be dried and ground into a fine powder it can be added to hot water and sipped as a sleeping draught. Higher concentrations of the powder can be used as a sedative It can be used to treat symptoms of anxiety, sleeplessness, and used as an anesthetic Mild to moderate sedation will result in a drowsy, relaxed state, while deep sedation may require breathing support for the patient

Titian Orchid - currently the only known use for this gorgeous flower is for the pigment provided by the rich gold petals. Many Titan architectural structures have this easily recognizable auburn gold coloring This pigment is hearty and almost impossible to remove once applied to a surface, even outdoors there is likely to be little to no fading.

Vine Flower - these enormous plants when mature are crowned with large bract which looks like the leaves along the stem of the plant. The fibers from nearly every part of the plant can be spun together and used to make stretchy, strong rope

White Bell - though growing close to the sea and coastal areas the pigment from the White Bell is water resistant Dried and ground up the petals are often used to make a chalk to finish tents Rubbing the chalk on the tent cloth gives them a bright white appearance and makes them leak proof
