WORD ON THE STREET IS…?!

New Moon 3/10

REPORTER: Selillitha Silverdreth

Hi! I’m Selillitha Silverdreth. This addition to the paper is called: “Word on the Street is?”! This segment is for our readers who want to know about the people of Azeroth. Today, I am delighted to introduce you all to Miss Bimbas! Miss Bimbas is usually seen around the city playing music and hanging out with her friends such as Archie or Herne!

WHO ARE YOU?

For those who don't know me yet, my name is Miss Bimbas. Born and raised in Outlands, I came to Azeroth with my people on The Exodar and haven't stopped fighting for peace and justice since in the name of The Light, in the name of my people and in the name of this planet that I now call Home. I was born and raised in an Order of Paladins called the Order of Light

My parents were a part of the Order Miatras, my mother, a brave warrior, faithful to the wishes of the Light, who was accepted and recognized as a member of the Order, becoming one of the leaders of the war campaign due to her ferocity and dexterity on the battlefield. Known for having a strong temperament and extroverted humor, she was a reference figure

First Quarter 3/17

for everyone in the Order Bimiir, my father, in turn one of the Leaders of the Order responsible for developing battle strategies, always being recognized for his patience, calm, righteousness and faith in the Light. He was able to express the desires of the Light through words, cherishing the heart of everyone who heard him

However a child being born within the order while they fought for Shattrath, wasn’t the best of situations I was born prematurely due to my mother covering her belly with hide and bandages Sadly, my parents fell in battle in Terokkar. The order did not allow external relationships, even friendships, which is why I lived a life isolated from the world, having relationships strictly with people from the Order

I was trained as a paladin from the age of 13 and fought until I was 28, and during that time I took part in important battles, but after so many years, I decided to leave everything behind and look for a new life. I always dreamed of seeing the world and living beyond my Order and one day, I plucked up the courage to do it

I have a small paper as well called “Seagull’s Gazette”. I also work as a Port Agent. Lastly, I work as a secretary and a lawyer for Den Walden Recently, I became the representative for Mage

Full Moon 3/25

Quarter! I feel I can help people without leaving my dreams aside

In my free time, I frequent taverns throughout the kingdom in order to strengthen my ties with the community It's not difficult to see myself out there, talking and being interested in everyone around me I like making friends, going for walks in the park, having dinner and, of course, romance

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO IN STORMWIND?

People! Without a doubt! I love the chaos of the city! I love wandering the streets and alleys and meeting new people, there are so many interesting people in this world.

DO YOU HAVE ANY FAMILY?

I have a sister on my father's side! Before joining the Order, my father was married and had a daughter. Lyndlee Wagglespring! We're so alike and so different! I love her I have a LOT of friends! If there's one thing I'm good at, it's making friends but my confidant friends are: Tinuviel Emberlight, Archie and Herne!

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS YEAR?

BEHIND THE CURTAINS: “MURDER AT THE MANOR”

GUEST REPORTER: Mavvi Solarvale

The Hearthside Theatre Company is hard at work in preparation for their upcoming production of “Murder at the Manor ” The show will open in Dalaran at 7:00 pm Saturday, March 23rd. A second performance will be held at 7:00 p m Saturday, April 6th

Behind the scenes, the production team, actors, and Director Lady Remona Thane, a theater visionary with a keen eye for detail, work tirelessly to ensure that every aspect of the “Murder at the Manor” performance is polished to perfection. Lady Thane describes her motivations for writing the play, “I found that the storytelling of a family could be just as complex and compelling, if not more so, than the romance I had focused on in “The Suitor.” In wanting to focus on the element of family, I drafted “Murder at the Manor ” It’s a comedy, yes, but it’s also about a family that fundamentally misses how they used to be ”

At a recent rehearsal sneak peek, the stage came alive with energy Lady Thane, orchestrated the proceedings with precision She meticulously guided the actors through their scenes, offering feedback and encouragement along the way Lady Thane wrote the base script for “Murder at the Manor,” and then through workshops over three months, the actors added their own exploration of their character’s motivations and relationships.

The result is a team effort where the narrative showcases about 80% original dialogue by the actors. Each character is personal and the result invests the audience the moment the curtains open The cast, a diverse ensemble of seasoned professionals and emerging talents, immerses themselves fully in their roles. Actor Aleron Grimm says, “A murder mystery is just a classic Every theatre should run at least one ” Each actor brings a unique perspective and interpretation to their character, adding layers of depth and complexity to the narrative The results are a delightful mix of drama, complex familial relationships, and comedic moments making the madcap murder mystery situation immediately, and perhaps surprisingly, relatable.

The sneak peek rehearsal did not include the final scenes so ‘whodunit’ remains a mystery! Concessions will be available, making this a perfect opportunity to bring a date or friends and enjoy a lovely evening out at a live theatre production Make plans to see “Murder at the Manor!”

GENERAL HEALING WITH DRAGON ISLES HERBS: PART I

MAJOR HERBS

REPORTER: Kalimeris Embersong

For centuries, medicinal herbs have played a crucial role in healing systems around Azeroth and beyond Both as an alternative, and complementary approach to medical and magical healthcare, many healers use herbs. One of the key advantages of medicinal herbs is their holistic approach to wellness There are major and minor herbs to be found in the Dragon Isles Common plants can be found throughout the major regions, while other herbs are much more rare and will require some foraging Here is a list of major Dragon Isles herbs and some of their medicinal uses:

Hochenblume is perhaps the most common herb in the Dragon Isles All parts of the Hochenblume can be harvested and used in some way The blossoms can be dried and made into tea that reduces inflammation. The stems can be dried and ground into a powder, and made into a tonic to ease difficult labor The leaves are edible and can be used to add a slight citrus flavor to foods The roots can be crushed and made into a poultice, acting as an astringent

Bubble Poppy is named after the bulb of liquid that is clutched by the plant’s roots It is selfsustaining as it holds its own water and warmth, and it is often found in rocky soil The leaves are edible if cooked like greens, they are very tasty and will prevent scurvy Do not eat the seeds or flower of the Bubble Poppy, in small amounts it will cause flush and perspiration, and in larger amounts will cause hallucinations

Saxifrage has a few important healing properties that make it a favorite of healers and apothecaries It can be found along cliff sides and higher elevations. Once the roots are harvested they can be boiled into a tonic to restore vitality; ground into a pulp and made into a poultice that is both antiseptic and styptic Saxifrage roots naturally help prevent infections, and stop bleeding.

Writhebark is another medical favorite It has a strong connection to other flowers and plants and tends to be found near forests and trees. This plant gives off the scent of warm, holiday spices but please, do not ingest it, despite its lovely aroma it is quite bitter All parts of Writhebark can be used to make an oil and this is best used externally. Applied directly to the temples it can remedy headaches It is well known for being antibacterial, and can be used to treat bites, burns, and skin infections of all kinds

These Dragon Isles plants can be used singly or in combinations

One word of caution though is to make sure to use herbs as responsibly as you would any medical or magical remedy Some herbs could cause adverse reactions in certain individuals so good patient communication is essential

In addition to their healing properties, medicinal herbs offer an opportunity to reconnect with nature. Many folks will find solace in cultivating their own herb gardens or foraging for wild plants This connection to the natural world can have profound benefits for mental health and well-being.

In conclusion, medicinal herbs represent a rich tapestry of healing traditions that are as relevant today as they were centuries ago. By harnessing the power of nature's remedies, we can tap into a wealth of therapeutic potential and embrace a holistic approach to healing

Look for Part 2 Minor herbs of the Dragon Isles, next month!
