Many medics and healers are lent spell books and treatises during our apprenticeships. Even more, we often begin to write our own books, journaling what we have learned, be it spells, prayers, recipes for herbal concoctions, rites, or incantations - things that work for us, things we have discovered. These books can then be shared with those we train in the medical arts. Each new book serves as a gateway to new perspectives, capturing the mind through sharing knowledge, and the heart by sharing poignant explorations of the fragility of

MEDICAL LITERARY JOURNEYS: BOOKS THAT TRANSCEND BOUNDARIES, EDUCATES, AND ENTERAIN After a busy holiday season many of us look forward to cozy, fireside chats and reads. For medical professionals this can include books where the written word serves as a gateway to expanded knowledge and techniques, history, and even imaginative stories. I myself was recently prompted to locate a tome for a medical ritual and was reminded of the wealth of medical literature we have available to us!
