WYVERN’S TAIL ADVENTURING REPORTER: Xulk

There is nobody who can save us but each other. That is the philosophy of the adventurer’s guild I help run out of the Wyvern’s Tail in Orgrimmar. Gravy and I find what quests need doing in the region and offer them up to all who stop by. Quests given out on previous nights get turned in and discussed, and together we help improve the region. The Greater Durotar region suffered an ecological and spiritual collapse during the Orcish exodus and the subsequent wars, never having a chance to recover before being deeply scoured by Deathwing. Two civil wars and Primalist attacks came after, leaving the land and its people scarred. Durotar has had the misfortune of not being damaged enough that the Horde has focused its recovery efforts elsewhere. While the new campaign in the Dragon Isles is worthwhile, sometimes the old and known must be mended and tended to as well. And so we meet, explore and try to find what can be fixed. We meet every other Thursday in the Wyvern’s Tail, in the Valley of Honor at 8pm. Our next meeting will be on November 9th. We have organized this differently than

most other campaigns, we do not exercise strict control over you, or the quests you have been given. When you show up, you can receive a quest, and from there, you will have broad discretion on just how you complete it, though you are encouraged to adventure with others. Once you complete your quest, return to the tavern and brag to everyone how your quest went. Our goal isn’t just to fix lingering problems, but also to connect the various adventurers of Kalimdor together, to work more effectively against whatever threat the region will face next. Slowly, through the work of many, the region can start to heal. We have had success. A cartel was poisoning the Southfury to boost the price of water in the region, but was thwarted through collected effort. The shaman Thragg Gorerunner recruited the aid of the spirit of Thunder Ridge. Sajama and The Hand of Alganon ran a water caravan from the Crossroads and back. Johanna tracked down one of the cartel alchemists who had faked his death. Ki’iro calmed a water elemental that had contorted itself to look like a crocolisk. Their efforts, and the efforts of many others, have changed the fate of Durotar.

While the river is once again potable after boiling, the cartel remains at large, and may yet attempt another scheme to prey upon the people and lands of Durotar. They are far from the only malady. I invite you to do something about it. Any are welcome to take part in the performance of the quest themselves, including members of the Alliance. I would ask that Alliance members not try to enter Orgrimmar directly, the grunts get quite upset about that sort of thing. There is nothing stopping you from working with your neutral and Horde friends, however. Additional information on the Durotar Adventurer’s Guild methods and philosophy is posted at the Wyvern’s Tail. I look forward to seeing you all next Thursday and hearing about the adventures and allies you find along the way.
