This project involves designing a proposal for the Mujasam Watan competition, inspired by the Arabic “Bisht” and its resemblance.

THE PROJECT INVOLVES DESIGNING A MOSQUE IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD WITH A STRONG EMPHASIS ON SUSTAINABILITY. ITS KEY ECO-FRIENDLY FEATURE IS THE USE OF RAMMED EARTH FOR WALL CONSTRUCTION, ALIGNING WITH ITS COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABLE PRINCIPLES.

Driven by the ambition to transform Northern Alkhobar’s once-famous site, the project draws vfrom late 70s design, evident in cantilever facades, concrete, and decorative bricks. The challenge: preserve history, address structural issues, and create a dynamic, community-embracing space while retaining the market’s unique identity.

MUJASAM WATAN COMP

IDEA & CONCEPT

The design of Tuwaiq Square draws its inspiration from the majestic Tuwaiq Mountains, a symbol of endurance and resilience in Saudi Arabia. The square’s form reflects the natural curves and undulating ridges of the mountains, extending from the northern regions of Najd to the southern edges of the Rub’ al Khali.
