Grand opening of Jay Wells Park in Paris

“My roots go very deep in the town of Paris and I am truly honoured that the town council even considered me in the first place,” said Wells. “The park looks fantastic and is a great space for family, and friends to enjoy all it has to offer!”

“Once again, I would like to thank everyone involved in making this happen, and for everyone who turned out to help me and my family celebrate this great honour. Thank you,” he said.

The park features a multipurpose court for basketball, soccer, and ball hockey – an appropriate recognition for Wells, the Brant County resident who played in the National Hockey League for 18 years.

“Several years ago, the Paris Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee offered a park naming engagement to the community and Jay Wells’, a Keg Lane resident, name was submitted as a nomination,” ...continued on page 2
