COMPANY FOUNDER FRANK H. AYRES

The Ayres Story In 1905, Mr. & Mrs. Frank H. Ayres and young son Donald came from Ohio on a $2.00 train ride to explore land developing opportunities in California. After developing eight small ranches in the mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles, Frank formed his own company, Frank H. Ayres & Son. Hoping to pioneer Southern California’s future, Frank H. Ayres & Son transformed underdeveloped land in Hollywood, Santa Monica, Westchester and many other cities into thriving residential and commercial communities. Today, the Ayres Hotel Group continues this tradition as the fourth and fifth generations of the Ayres family develop and manage a collection of handcrafted boutique hotels throughout Southern California.

From pioneering subdivisions of homes to building prestigious communities, the firm founded by Frank H. Ayres has been widely recognized for its foresight in the construction industry. For a century, the Ayres name demonstrates a reputation for quality, value and craftsmanship in Southern California.
