A message from the PTA

Aylesbury Grammar School is over four hundred years old and whilst we are rightly proud of our history and our tradition of excellence, we also want to build a school with facilities to support exceptional learning, to help our students ready themselves to face the demands of the 21st century, and to be successful in whatever they choose to do. But this requires money and that is where the AGSPTA comes in.

The AGS PTA is a community of parents, carers and teachers who raise money for AGS. This year, we have raised £28,000 to help refurbish the IT rooms. And, in the last ten years, the AGS PTA has raised over £250,000. PTA money has helped to fund a wide range of projects that benefit every single student in the school; from science labs to music equipment, a minibus, sports changing rooms, theatre lighting, language labs and a myriad of smaller items that make it possible for the teachers to run the range of extracurricular clubs that AGS offers.

And that’s why we need your help. To raise all this money we put on a range of different events throughout the year. This year, we put on a curry and quiz night, a summer fête, laser tag days, a Burns’ Night supper, and an Arts & Craft Fair. All our events need people to help brainstorm new ideas, or organise, or volunteer on the day. So, have you thought about joining the AGS PTA? We need you now more than ever. Don’t leave it to

someone else to join. Email us now and join the community.

We would like to thank everyone who helped make the 2017/18 academic year such a success in terms of fundraising and we hope to see you again next year!
