Just as the current 2020 Eco-Team are putting into action, it was great to read about the similar creation of an AGS garden, way back in 1931. Miss Taffs and her helpers have been replaced in the modern era by Mrs Levitt, Mrs Giles and their helpers and we look forward to seeing the results of their work in due course.

These short news items were a very popular addition to the magazine in the early part of its revival. Some come across as unintentionally hilarious at times as they are very ‘of their time’ .

‘No more picnicking in the Physics lab’ and the excitement of a school visit to the local Gas Works are my particular favourites here…
