2014 WATERBOT A Resort Project designed in Bahria Town Rawaipindi beside Golf Course as a medium to conceptually explore the possibilities of integrating water architecture as means of incorporating a recreational water facility to the locality and viewing the conceptual scenario into a realized facility. The Resort acts as a Robotic Machine which gains its water needs from the nearby water body running through the golf course which cycles through the resort supplying water to the facilities within after filtration and tends to return back the water back to waterbody after completing its cycle providing a fun water experience for its users.

2017 THESIS THE CULINARY SENSE

Skill of making food is abundant in Pakistan but the art of innovating it requires its due attention. Culinary Arts like any other requires an entire process of thought together with acquiring the raw ingredients, the physical process of making and then letting the audience judge it by devouring it through the senses. My thesis focuses upon creating a culinary innovation and research center in a public park in Rawalpindi for the amateur cooks with a raw talent of culinary sense to explore the art of Culinary through its sensory impacts upon the user and Architecture hosting it. The Architecture itself manifests in multiple layers of educational learning and sociable experiences to create a dynamic balance between the two. The educational part being the private layer aims at providing a flexible interactive experience amongst the learners through self-exploration and experimentation along with providing functionally apt environments in order to learn to innovate in a team and individually.

2

Food is celebrated through its sociability aspects as an act of performance for the public who are gathered to evaluate the products created by the learning chefs. It provides an intermediary layer of bringing the chefs directly in contact with outside world and get the responses right there in an interactive session between the creator and the audience, enhancing the food’s characteristics as an open public exhibitory Art and not just a skill. This entire process would ultimately enable the graduating chefs to have a good standing in the national as well as international market as creative individuals.

AFFORDABLE LIVING The project aims at creating an Affordable Housing scheme for the people of Islamabad in a context which allows two distinct zones, on ebeing the high traffic density islamabad Highway, much public than the other Residencial Zone of I-8 sector. The building itself acts as liminal zone between the two within a park. The different layers of the building allow different activities to take place. The ground floor is kept completely public, acting as a transitional zone between the two. Perforated screens on the ground floor allow permeability as well as rentable units for kiosks as well as sitting spaces for the public to act as an open urban space. The Two alternating typical floor plans allow an exposed view towards the outside as well as communal spaces inbetween the pockets inside through terraces. Screening outside individual apartments maintain privacy of the residents. Thus the project itself transitions between public to semi public and then to individual private spaces.

Tamasha is Culrural Center celebrating the show and sell culture, encouraging the artisans belonging to different regions of Pakistan to showcase their work, hold workshops and sell their made products within the facility. facility

Located in the vicinity of the Marquees of the sector E-11 Islamabad, the deisgn itself is a statement towards the permamanency of a building residing underneath the sheath of visually temporal nature to attract the citizens towards itself, and slowly and gradually take its ownership. The glass building acts as the exbitory showcase for different cultural acts including the art of selling regionally produced goods. Thus making it an entreprenural oppurtunity for the artisans around the country. The tensile roof acts as the weatherproof sheath for the glass building unerneath and holds different activities throughout the year.

URBAN REGENERATION The project aims at redesigning the Rawapindi Stadium in response to multiple problems within it’s urban context to better facilitate the users of the stadium itself as well creating a better urban environment around it’s periphery. The designs intends to elongate the form of the stadium at it’s north-south orientation in order to accomodate more users while enhancing it’s seating capacity. It’s design is based on the prospect, that when the scheduled matches are not being held, the stadium could still be used as a space for multiple public events. The dense fabric outside the stadium allows robustness through designed programs as a way of generating revenue from the designed space.

FAISALABAD RESIDENCE

A residencial project proposal proposed for a client in Wapda Ciy Faisalabad. Aim of this residential project is to have a well-functioning and healthy household. Adequate & Reasonable space for each activity has been provided, keeping in mind appropriate amounts of cross ventilation, sunlight & 'breathing pockets' within the household. Spaces have been connected to create a combination of modern lifestyle; this design is not just a house to live in, it is a house to be enjoyed by residents.

50

N GROUND FLOOR PLAN

The Laundry, Kitchen & Living are connected to an open 'breathing space' & their ventilation is through that.

Kitchen is mindfully designed to allow smooth functioning of all processes taking place with a Dirty Kitchen & Pantry as well.

Breakfast Area Another space maximizing the usage & activities taking place in living alongside other activities.Connects the multiple spaces in it’s periphery. Openness of Living Room: No physical door & glass panel wall is indicative that mind should not perceive it as closed off/ congested space. Quality of space is enhanced and it seems larger than it is The Living Room is the core essence of this house, where space opens in many senses to liberate the mind & allowing family members to stay close & continue most of daily activities in this place together.

Living Room faces lawn for visual pleasure of green landscaping. It is also a Partially Double heighted space.

Patio connects to dining & master bed, gives a visual pleasure & adds to spatial quality. Special features will form a part of such spaces.

Dining Room is an open space to celebrate togetherness of family, opposite to kitchen.

Powder room is in reach of residents during their time spent in the living room as it is the most active place in the house. As for guests it is also close by.

Drawing room is positioned to keep privacy of the residents while visiting guests can be seated without having to interrupt rest of the household. Size & scale of this room is reasonable yet accommodating at least 10 persons at a time. It has not been assigned a large chunk of space as such guests visit less often & ally functions of house require more space.

Entry of house by Deck, Steps & Veranda and a wide door. These have been combined in a way to give a first modern & welcoming feel into the house.

Entrance of the Residence through gate & porch is wide enough to accommodate 2 sedan type cars, with sufficient space to allow opening of doors & movement of residents around them.

N FIRST FLOOR PLAN

Each Bedroom has attached wardrobe & bath, good natural ventilation & a visual connection to outdoors

A Smaller living/ Relaxing space is provided on first floor

Open Study/ Library is a comfortable space for sitting and reading/studying with book shelves & bridge over the lounge.

Store is necessary for the storage of items within a functioning household.

Bridge is in many ways crucial to modern design aesthetically & practically as we.ll

a Balcony opens up through the bridge to enjoy yhr view of the outside

Bedroom is connected to the terrace through a sliding door to enjoy the pleasures of the open space.

52

N MUMTY PLAN

Mumty has a Servant Quarter with sufficient facilities & a spiral staircase at the back of the house to keep their passage to a side.

Roof is accessible both from the inside of the house for the residents and a separate spiral staircase entrance from the back for the servants to enter into the servant quarter.

N BASEMENT PLAN

An open Void that penetrates throughout the bilding provides ample ventillation to the basement alongside other floors.

A large Store Room is provided in the basement as well as a Multipurpose hall for hosting activities such as table tennis matches, movie nights, family guests stay overs etc.

A Guest Bedroom has been provided which allows the guests to have their own privacy in the basement.

Basements provide a cool space in summers where air conditioning might not even be needed at time & a warmer feel in winters. It is always good to have a basement that is naturally & properly ventilated as this design will prove further through its elevations & sections.

SALMAN MANSUR & ASSOCIATES

DESIGN ARCHITECT

Being under the mentorship of Architect Salman Mansoor, I worked on mutiple projects keeping in mind his design theories and their implementation into reality. Being a design Architect, i worked on different elements of different projects, from making 3Ds of the designed projects, their rendering and presentation. Designing plans, elevations and sections from plans was all part of the design schema. Furthermore,in order to see these designs to able to be constructed on site, I worked on their working drawings together with working as a project manager, overlooking the entire project.

This Project gave me the oppurtunity of working on a large scale project in Revit software which is BIM in nature. It allowed me to grasp multiple aspects of Revi from color coding the areas to to making Rooms by Departments, scheduling the Areas in a quick and easy manner, making weeks of work turn into days due to this highly intelligent software. I was able simultaneoulsy work within a team on the same project at the same time due to the highly efficient feature of collaboration within Revit by connecting to a server. It allowed working on the same project being continents apart.

CE LA VI - SITE SALES OFFICE The Site Sales Office for the Main Ce La Vi Building is a design unique in it’s own nature. Created not as an office but an open Sales platform for the clients on the ground floor to casually come in and chat with the Sales personnel and enjoy a live Music Jamming session along the way. The open Juice Bar allows a more natural flow of conversation between the Sales People and the clients while engaging in an interactive atmosphere. The formal offices are kept at the First floor and allowing Breakout areas to be present for a more collaborative work environmnt rather than a strict work atmosphere.

Each and every single detailing from floor planning to the interior detail, was done In-house. Constant collaboration with the Structural Engineer and contractor on Site kept the flow of work alive throughout the process of making the Site Sales Office. The structural Solutions were unique in nature due to the cursive form and the presence of Cladding as the keys of a Piano which corresponds to the Music Hub inside.

74

The location of the office is kept as such that it can be viewd from over a mile when one turns to look straight at the edge of the round about, the most prominent feauture becomes the Site Sales Office. This prime location enhances the chanes of building publicity, the reason for which the Sales Office was made for. Triple Heighted Entrance Lobby adds the touch of Magnificance adding to the luxurious feel of the Site Sales Office. The entire design was well coordinated with the Structural Engineer to come up with ptimum solutions for the facade as well as the interiors. The open terraces on the First floor allows huge vistas to be enjoyed from within the office. The entire form was designed in wave like pattern which continues in not only the highs and lows of the cladding but also within the groves and joints moved in a periodic manner.

76

The constant play of lights and shadows from the slit like windows of the Office enhances the ambiance of the floors inside. The entire project was carefully supervised by the architects including myself to ensure a smooth and as planned execution of the project as envisioned by us.

2019 THE AMETHYST

CUMMUNITY CLUB

12

Amethyst, a Luxurious semi-precious stone enriched with layers of white, gold and purple hues. Harder and tougher from outside and glistering crystals are revealed within the center of the stone adding to the importance of their location whilst being hidden and slowly revealing their beauty.

The Community Club derives it’s inspiration from the Amethyst, setting the same standard of class with the courtyard being the central most celebrated spaces of all and the rest of the programs circulating around it. Instead of an outward approach, we provide a more exclusive, inward approach for the members of the club to enjoy the serene interiors and the well designed amenities.
