MA’AN QUEST: THE PURSUIT OF PURPOSE

As a part of your journey to discover your ma’an, we’ve created a series of resources to assist you. The Ministry Fair will wrap up this Sunday, October 20 in the Fellowship Hall. Visit each booth between or after services, ask questions, find a place that fits you.

Complete the Discovering Your Spiritual Gift Assessment on our website: tinyurl.com/CovenantSpiritualGifts

This week you will receive a packet that can assist you even further as you consider your financial and service commitment to Christ through Covenant UMC for 2025. Read through the materials, pray over your commitments, and complete the cards. Return them on Commitment Sunday, October 27. Online Forms are available on our website here: https://covenantumc.net/give

HURRICANE RELIEF THROUGH UMCOR

The disasters this fall have affected multiple states and millions of people. The good news is the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is on the scene(s). Give today to help these needed families and communities. And remember that 100% of your donation goes towards relief. Please mark your donation to either Hurricane Relief or UMCOR.

OCTOBER IS PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH!

Pastor Chris and Pastor Allison – THANK YOU for early Sunday mornings and late nights, for the seeds you plant and disciples you nurture, for the sermons you preach and the prayers you lift up, for the wise counsel and the words of encouragement, for your sacrifice and service, and so much more that you do! Please take time to express your appreciation for Pastor Chris and Pastor Allison with a card, a note, a small gift, and most of all prayer. 1 Timothy 5:17 “The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.”

ATTENTION COVENANT COOKIE BAKERS!!!

The Covenant United Women in Faith will again be participating in making cookies for the Allen County Jail Ministry. Last year we contributed 95 dozen cookies to this ministry and we want to top that this year. Now is the time to start baking and putting the cookies in your freezer. They can be brought to the church on Sunday, December 7, and put in the kitchen. Volunteers will be bagging the cookies on Monday, December 8, and anyone can help with this project as well. We cannot accept any store bought cookies so just bake, bake, bake! Questions? Please contact Barb McCoy at (260) 637-1842.

This is also a time to celebrate Pastor Chris’ achievement: This year marks a monumental achievement for Pastor Chris. It is the 25th Anniversary of his ordination into the United Methodist Church. On June 4, 1999, he was ordained an Elder by Bishop Woodie White. Since that time he has served across the state in a variety of positions within the church: Associate Pastor, Lead Pastor, District Superintendent, Board Chair, Camp Dean, Consultant, and Coach. As part of this celebration, he has been participating in a series of mini-retreats to prepare him for a sabbatical in 2025. The Annual Conference provides a small grant for every participant in this “Called to Fruitfulness” process. The Leadership Board is excited to share in this celebration and hope you will congratulate him on his quarter century of ordained ministry.
