LINCOLN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL GLOVE DONATION

The Case Manager at Lincoln School has asked if Covenant would be able to donate gloves for little hands – kindergartners and first graders have a habit of losing their gloves and new ones are always needed to keep their hands warm. Please leave donations at the Mission Collection Center.

ATTENTION COVENANT COOKIE BAKERS!!!

The Covenant United Women in Faith will again be participating in making cookies for the Allen County Jail Ministry. Last year, we contributed 95 dozen cookies to this ministry and we want to top that this year. Now is the time to start baking and putting the cookies in your freezer. They can be brought to the church on Sunday, December 7, and put in the kitchen. Volunteers will be bagging the cookies on Monday, December 8, and anyone can help with this project as well. We cannot accept any store bought cookies so just bake, bake, bake! Questions? Please contact Barb McCoy at (260) 637-1842.

WHAT DO UNITED METHODISTS BELIEVE?

With all the controversies in today's world, we invite you to join the Discovery Group to learn what United Methodists believe. The official beliefs and doctrines of the United Methodist Church are printed in its Book of Discipline. These doctrinal statements are from our two predecessor denominations and include the "Confession of Faith of the Evangelical United Brethren Church" adopted in 1946 and "The Articles of Religion of the Methodist Church" adopted in 1939. Everyone is invited to join us in this 90 minute study on Sundays, November 10, 17, and 24, at 10 a.m. in rooms 105 and 107 in the office wing of the church.

RESCUE MISSION IN NEED OF MEN’S WINTER WEAR

Believe it or not, cold weather is just around the corner! The Rescue Mission’s is in need of men’s underwear, sweatshirts, hoodies, winter gloves, and winter coats. Please leave donations at the Mission Collection Center.

SUBS ARE NEEDED FOR STUDY CONNECTION

Leave soup donations at the Mission Collection Center (please, NO glass containers). You can make a financial donation to Covenant by writing a check (indicate “Soup Collection”), or donate online, or on the Covenant app. Your financial donation will be given to Associated Churches to purchase soup for their food banks. When the weather is cold, soup is a great way to warm up and satisfy a hungry stomach!

Study Connection is a tutoring program through FWCS and Covenant participates at Lincoln Elementary. Starting mid-October tutors from Covenant will meet with their assigned students on Wednesdays after school. Nine tutors have agreed to be tutors, but there are times when they can’t attend so subs are needed. Please consider filling in as a sub when needed. You will spend time working on school work from the student’s teacher and reading. To volunteer, contact Jenny Hines (260) 908-6964 or jenniferdhines1964@gmail.com or Sue Weirich (260) 450-6965 or skweirich@gmail.com
