COMMITMENT CARD GIFT

Have you turned in your 2025 commitment card yet? If so, be sure to stop by the Welcome Center for your thank you gift on Sunday morning. We hope this Covenant UMC mug will help elevate your devotional time! If you haven't turned in your card yet, there's still time! Check out the Covenant UMC website or stop by the Welcome Center for a copy!

CHRISTMAS CANTATA

Covenant's annual Christmas Cantata will be presented in both services on Sunday, December 15. It will include our Chancel Choir with guests, orchestra, sets, costumes, and drama. Bring a friend and mark your calendar now. While the stream will present a high quality presentation, you may want to be in the Sanctuary for the full experience. (Just one director's opinion).

To complete our list of props, WE NEED YOUR HELP! If you have, or have access to a large menorah, could we borrow it? Please contact Pat Clouse at gpsclouse@aol.com. Thanks, John

SNACKS FOR THE PEACE ROOM AT NORTHROP HIGH SCHOOL

“Blessed are the peacemakers.” Matthew 5:9

Alive Community Outreach is now in all five FWCS High Schools thanks to the passage of the tax referendum last fall. One of the programs of Alive Community Outreach is the Peacemaker Academy with a goal to teach Martin Luther King’s six principles of nonviolence. The Peacemaker Academy teaches these principles to 12 students from each high school who are committed to making peace in their school and community. Covenant is a supporter of the Peacemakers at Northrop High School. We are starting our involvement by having some members be a part of the Peace Family Lunch Table once a month at Northrop. This is a place to talk with students and to provide small treats. It’s a place to show the students they are cared for and loved and to help build cross-generational relationships.

Another part of the program at each high school is the Peace Club for students. The Peace Club is a room set aside as a safe place for students, where there is a student advocate trained in the principles of Kingian Nonviolence. The Peace Club meets every Monday after school and is a place for students to hang out, to share with each other, to resolve disputes, and to feel safe. We can help to support this program by providing individually wrapped snacks for the Peace Club. As we all know, teenagers love to eat! Please leave any donations of individually wrapped snacks at the Mission Collection Center. To learn more about the Peacemaker Academy, visit alivefw.org or contact Barb Hering at barbhering@gmail.com or (260) 482-8486.
