Internal strip out and refurbishment

Highlights
The Metropolitan Police commissioned Axis to deliver a full strip out and internal refurbishment of their Romford Station. The internal refurbishment was carried out on the corridors, stairs and second floor breakout/rest room.
We began the project with a full asbestos removal and disposal to enable the replacement of suspended ceilings, renewal of electrical and light systems and floor coverings.
Internal refurbishment was carried out to the corridors, stairs and second floor breakout/rest room, which included the installation of PVCu wall cladding, cleaning Terrazzo and stainless steel and the renewal of power and lighting.
Completing the works in a busy and operational police station required careful planning and communication. Due to the high security nature of the station we worked out of hours on the front desk and custody area. When working in the conference rooms and inspector offices we programmed works to ensure minimal disruption.

Upon completion of the strip out and refurbishment works we were then able to reinstate the signage, noticeboard, fire extinguishers, fire aid box, partitioning, doors and hardwire the fridge and microwave into the existing electrical socket to finish the project for the client.
