Highlights
To provide new office facilities for the Inns of Court College of Advocacy, The Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn contracted Axis to conduct a complete reorganisation and refurbishment at basement, ground, first and second floor levels at their premises at 14 South Square.
Following a full strip out, we reconfigured the ground floor space to provide a new reception area, a DDA‑compliant WC, a teapoint and two meeting rooms with a partition wall between.
Our reconfiguration of the first floor provided an open plan office area, enclosed photocopier area, a private office, a teapoint and two unisex WCs.
And on the second floor we remodelled the space to create an open plan office area, unisex WCs plus shower, a private office and a small meeting room.

The tenant is really overjoyed at what we’ve achieved… Our working relationship with the site manager for this project was excellent. He [Axis’ Taylor Farrell] rang me at eight o’clock every morning to check I was happy and to discuss any issues going forward. And that carried on throughout the job. The very close working relationship meant that some potential problems were identified before they became an issue, and solutions discovered and adopted. Through this collaboration, we were able to address any issues immediately, which meant that there were no delays to the project, and we achieved the standard we required.
As with most projects, there was design development as the job progressed and Axis were very amenable to working with us to improve and enhance the design as we moved forward.
