Full Refurbishment
Metropolitan Police Vehicle Workshops, Ponton Road
Highlights
Axis undertook a fast-track full fit out of the Metropolitan Police Ponton Road vehicle workshop and offices.
Our client had to vacate their previous building at the end of its lease and relocate their mechanics and engineers who look after the Metropolitan Police’s extensive range of vehicles.
We completed a full refurbishment of the administration block, transforming it into modern offices and welfare facilities.
Works included the installation of a new VRF cooling and heating system, full re-wire of power and data new containment, new LED lighting, plus full mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations throughout.
Works included new access control and CCTV to the building along with external security doors and internal fire doors.
We undertook some demolition and constructed new walls for a new improved office layout.
We also fully decorated and installed new flooring throughout, including non-slip resin flooring to the workshop areas and parts stores, all designed to improve staff facilities.
The garage facilities included new high-tech Dura workstations, new vehicle lifts, exhaust extraction, compressed air and oil lines.
In addition, we installed the latest Hunter wheel alignment system and MOT Automated Test Lane (ATL, a specialised testing bay designed for one-person operation).
