HOUSING 21

Very polite… nothing was too much trouble. I have never met such a nice workforce; they could not do enough for me, and I would sincerely recommend them to anyone. They went above and beyond when dealing with our requests. The best contractors we have had on-site.

THE PROJECT

We have frequently collaborated with Housing 21 on a variety of refurbishment projects in their care homes and retirement properties. Operating nationwide across 240 local authority areas, Housing 21 is a not-for-profit provider of accommodation, communal facilities, and care workers for the retired and elderly. In addition to general refurbishment and redecoration work, we have completed numerous kitchen and bathroom replacements across the UK for this client. Two examples include Wilding Court in Woodbridge and Howard Vyse Court in Clacton-on-Sea.

SOLUTION

The projects had quick turnarounds and were completed in occupied properties. We understand that trust and good communication are vital to helping residents stay safe and happy while work is being carried out. Our team of directly employed operatives and dedicated resident liaison officers worked tirelessly to minimise disruption through continuous communication and collaborated with the residents and carers to complete renovations in a way that best suited them.

SOCIAL VALUE

HOWARD VYSE COURT

Project

As a thank you to residents, we often hold coffee mornings and parties to celebrate the completion of individual projects. These particular projects concluded around Easter, so we provided residents with Easter eggs as a further gesture of our gratitude for allowing us into their homes to make these improvements.

THE RESULTS

The residents and staff were extremely pleased with the outcome of both projects, as we provided a much-needed update and refresh to the properties. It is important to both CLC and the client that the results provide the residents with a beautiful home where they can feel relaxed, happy, and comfortable. Due to our success on these projects, CLC was awarded contracts to complete a further three schemes in 2024.

The hard work certainly paid off, and residents are delighted with their new kitchens and have expressed their gratitude for how the work was completed through some terrific feedback:

“I’m very happy with my new fitted kitchen. Everyone was very tidy and answered all questions I needed to ask. - Very polite, friendly, and hardworking. - Nothing was too much for them, best workers we have ever had on court - The operatives never left any mess at all outside; never any rubbish on the grass and all so polite and friendly.”
