After years of wear and tear, we partnered with Housing 21 to turn a tired supported living facility into a bright and inviting space.
The works in this project included redecorations of the main entrance, lounge and communal areas, alongside the 65 flats for residents. Minor building alterations were required to convert an existing area into a mobility scooter store as well as creating an on-site hairdressers for residents.
We also helped increase the safety of the building by replacing existing fire doors and installing new internal and external lighting including floodlights to the outside of the main entrance.
To make the building more accessible, we installed automatic doors at the main entrance and accompanying new handrails to ensure ease of access.
INNOVATIONS
During the project, we worked in partnership with Housing 21 to increase the energy efficiency by a massive 75% by replacing all original light fittings with LEDs.
To get residents involved in the project, our team worked with them to create a colour scheme that was approved by Housing 21.
SOLUTION
Over a period of 8 weeks, our operatives painted, plastered and refurbished the supported living facility; giving it a new lease of life for the residents.
To make sure we kept the disruption to a minimum, we worked with staff to create a schedule based on when areas would not be in use by residents.
Due to the short project turnaround, we utilised our local, directly employed operatives to conduct the work who used their multi-skilled knowledge and experience to save both time and money.
THE RESULTS
This once tired space has now become a bright and inviting home for its wonderful residents. Using our own employees, we were able to guarantee a consistently high quality of work, fewer issues and a faster completion time - much to the delight of the client who needed a quick turnaround.
