The first piece arrived on orbit in November 1998 and people have lived continually on the Station for 19+ years! A typical stay is about 6 months, however, Christina Cook (NASA) is about to complete her stay of almost a year. She and her fellow crewmembers, Luca Parmitano (ESA) and Alexander Skvortsov (Roscosmos) will be returning to earth in their Soyuz spacecraft on February 6 at 12:14 PM Moscow time. You can watch the landing and the recovery of the crew on www.nasa.govand select the “TV” link for live coverage from the steppes of Kazakhstan where we will retrieve them via helicopter.
