CALIFORNIA EXPERIENCES MORE THAN 100 EARTHQUAKES EACH AND EVERY SINGLE DAY! One shocking and almost entirely unknown fact to many California residents is that we, in reality, are experiencing over 100 earthquakes – each and every single day!
But surely, that seems impossible!
Because . . . well, such a shocking fact as this would certainly be common knowledge.
And yet, it is an indisputable scientific fact. And yes, this information is of vast importance within the sphere of geophysical research.
And while it is also true that most of these daily 100-plus earth tremors are small in magnitude; cause little
or no damage; and even go unnoticed to most residents – this nonstop 24-hour seismic activity can add dangerous, subterranean tension along thousands of interconnected fault lines -- many of which run right through our North San Diego County region! And some faults are even offshore in the ocean depths off the coastline of Oceanside, where earthquake activity is being monitored and recorded (although mostly too slight and unnoticed by residents).
