Troubleshooting Problem

Cause

The Legend will not elevate or lower

No Power

●

Motor & control box are silent

●

No visible movement

Escape hatch does not open

Mechanical issue

Solution ●

Battery needs to be charged. Use supplied charger to charge battery for at least 8 hours.

●

If Legend has the optional solar panel, en-sure that it is getting adequate sunlight.

●

Check control box connections including battery, motors, key switch and solar panel.

●

Check key switch - open the key switch and review connections might need retightening.

●

Motor overheated - wait 30 minutes and try again.

Troubleshooting Problem

Cause

The Legend will not elevate or lower

Posts are frozen

Solution ●

Remove all snow and ice from Legend roof.

●

Tum the key clockwise a number of times to free up frozen post. Note: DO NOT turn the key counter-clockwise multiple times as it can cause the system to reset.

●

Slap the side of each post to free up the sys- tern and to break loose any ice/frost.

●

Spray a silicone based lubricant on the telescoping aluminum sleeves.

●

Ensure proper seal - turn on all the jets and air, lower roof, detect any leakage in the area of the posts. If leakage is occurring, loosen the outside post clamp and push down on the roof until leakage stops and re-tighten clamp and reinsert safety screw.

●

Perform the jack greasing procedure.

●

Alarms ALARM 1: Undervoltage

ALARM 3: Short Circuit

This alarm occurs If battery voltage is lower than "Low Battery UP" parameter in UP direction or battery voltage Is tower than "Low Battery DOWN" parameter on DOWN direction. In this case check battery charge state. This alarm is reset when the board is power-off end all keys are released.

This alarm occurs if gearmotor cable Is in short-circuit. In this case check cables or motor status. This alarm is reset when the board is power-off.

ALARM 4: Encoder Fail 1 This alarm occurs if one of the hall sensors' cable (+ power, power, ChA, ChB) of gearmotor 1 is not connected or if the hall sensors' board is broken after a delay settled in "Time Enc. Fail" parameter.

In this case check cables or motor status. This alarm is reset when the board Is power-off.

ALARM 5: Encoder Fail 2 This alarm occurs ii one or the hall sensors' cable (+ power, power, ChA, ChB) of gearmotor 2 is not connected or If the hall sensors' board Is broken after a delay settled in "Time Enc. Fair red :DAL SANTO FRANCESCO

G2 / G3 Legs The G3 post is the latest version of post found on COVANA units such as the OASIS, EVOLUTION, LEGEND and HORIZON models.

The G3 is in effect since March 2019, we can track units by serial to confirm if the unit has been built with a G3 post.

Improvements:

•

Red chain guide: Serves as a guide so the sleeves do not grab onto the jack thus keeping it from over forcing

•

The jack lock: The jack lock is now located on top of the jack making it more accessible.

•

The sprockets: Sprockets are now supported by bearings rather than bushings. This enhances the life span of the jack.

•

The chain tensioner: A chain tensioner is now easily accessible. Permitting to easily adjust the tension of the main chain.

•

Metal cable/wire: The metal wire found in the previous versions of jacks has been replaced by a chain identical to the drive chain.

•

Easier maintenance

Please refer to the current and updated version of the OASIS installation manual’s FOR THIS STEP. Some procedures with the new post version will defer from the previous one.

G2 POST JACK LOCK REMOVAL (OLD VERSION) Once all the drive shafts have been installed, the jack lock brackets located at the bottom of the non-motor-side jacks can safely be removed. Remove the Phillips M4 x 8 mm screws. With the jack lock removed, screw back in only the M4 x 8 mm screw. Keep the lock bracket and the hardware for future use. (Figure 52). You can now remove the red paper tags that are attached to the jacks.

Warning: Failure to remove this part will break the lifting Mechanism

G3 POST JACK LOCK REMOVAL (NEW VERSION)

Once all the drive shafts have been installed, the jack lock bolts located at the top of the non-motor-side jacks can safely be removed. Remove the Allen M8 x 50 mm screws. Keep the lock screws for future use. (Figure 52) Warning: Failure to remove this part will break the lifting Mechanism

Post Greasing Procedure Part 1 This unit will require the following greasing maintenance to ensure peak performance.

1.

Lower the roof until it is fully closed.

2.

Remove the 2 #2 Robertson screws on the top plate of each post. (Figure 17) Place top plates in a safe place.

WARNING - Do not use power tools, since screws might break or strip.

The internal jacks require yearly greasing. Early Fall is the best time. Use of "Mobil Epic EP MOL Y Grease" is recommended for hot and cold climates. Ideally, a sprayable grease or an equivalent low temperature synthetic grease.

Note: The posts will not lift by unscrewing the post covers. Only the motor can lift/lower the posts.

1.

Remove the 4 1/4"- 20 x 5/8" carriage bolts from each post using a 7/16" (11 mm) socket wrench. (Figure 18)

2.

Gently slide down the sleeve assembly (Figure 19).

3.

Replace the four threaded rods only (not the sleeve). Use the 1/4"- 20 x 5/8" carriage bolts 7/16" (11 mm) socket.

(Figure 19)

WARNING - If the jacks are raised without the cover fastened on, 60 they will not be able to lower back to their original position.

Raise the jacks until the system stops at its maximum limit. (Figure 20) Spray grease on all the sliding parts and mechanical components. (Figure 21)

8.

Inspect the post's cables and chains for signs of deterioration. If that's the case, please call your local COVANA dealer immediately.

9.

Cycle the system up and down and see if any further grease should be applied.

10. Lower carriage assembly. the bolts system 7/16" and (11 mm) unbolt the socket 1/4"-for 20 each x 5/8"jack The internal jacks require yearly greasing. Early Fall is the best time.
