B AUCKLAND CENTRAL CALCEX 2019 WINNERS! This year we sent four Year 13 students to compete in the Auckland Central CALCEX competition at St Cuthbert's College. CALCEX is a Mathematics competition for Year 12 and Year 13 students who compete to answer a set of questions in the fastest time possible. The Avondale College students put in a fabulous performance getting a score of 50 points and winning the Auckland Central competition ahead of Epsom Girls and St Cuthbert's College who each gained 45 points. The students who took part are Shivam Desai, Tovey Lai, Varun Kandpal, and Albert Wang.

SCHOOL SHOW As the curtain fell on the closing night of In the Heights on Saturday, more than 120 student performers and crew took a well-earned bow! The five-night show week was a huge success, with high-energy performances, superb dance numbers and, as promised, a riveting storyline. Congratulations to all who worked so hard in the weeks and months leading up to show week - your efforts both on and off the stage were very well received! Particular thanks go to the key staff involved: Miss Schmidt (Choreographer), Mr Stenbo (Musical Director), Susan Elijas (Set Designer) and especially the Show Directors, Miss Jamaliette Tuiletufuga and Mr Nick Smit, who did such a fantastic job in pulling it all together to create an extremely memorable show for 2019!
