B HONOURS ASSEMBLY Monday's Honours Assembly was a special occasion where 182 students were recognised for their achievements in cultural, sporting and academic arenas. Many of these students had achieved outstanding results at regional, national and even international levels. As the curtain fell on the closing night of Catch Me If You Can on Friday, more than 120 student performers and crew took a well-earned bow! The five-night show week was a huge success, with high-energy performances, superb dance numbers and, as promised, a riveting storyline. Congratulations to all who worked so hard in the weeks and months leading up to show week - your efforts both on and off the stage were very well received! Particular thanks go to the key staff involved: Ms Jennings (Choreographer), Mr Stenbo (Musical Director) and especially the Show Director, Mrs Norton, who did such a fantastic job in pulling it all together to create an extremely memorable show for 2018! ROTARY AWARDS 2019 The Bill Rodwell Rotary Award is to assist senior students to further their education at Avondale College. It is awarded to Year 11 or Year 12 students who have been fully involved in school activities, who have done well academically and intend to return to school for one or two years of further study. Family financial circumstances are taken into consideration. Application forms can be obtained from the main office or the Careers Department and should be handed in to Mr Bennett when completed by Friday 28 September.
