STUDENTS GAIN YET MORE I.C.T. CERTIFICATIONS

SCHOOL CLOSING EARLY

The CVs of one hundred and seventeen Avondale College students just got a whole lot more weighty yesterday, with the presentation of 299 certificates recognising achievement in four different ICT industry qualifications. These certifications included Microsoft Office Specialist, Microsoft Technical Associate, Adobe Certified Associate and Autodesk Certified Associate. These certifications are usually earned by adults at huge cost, but since 2014 Avondale College has presented 349 students with 848 industry qualifications. According to digital skills institute Xcerio, Avondale College is now New Zealand’s largest and most successful industry qualification provider. These certifications have been gained, for the most part, by students completing projects that are directly integrated into their junior ICT, NCEA and Cambridge Avondale College is now New Zealand’s largest and most successful studies. provider of ICT industry qualifications.

Monday’s assembly was a special one as 205 students were honoured for having achieved extraordinary results in their academic, cultural and sporting pursuits over recent months. Congratulations to all who were recognised at this event. For a full list see pages 6-7.
