On 17th of June 2019, the Government of Uganda finally passed the National Transitional Justice Policy. The goal of the policy is to pave the way towards achieving peace, stability and social cohesion in Uganda through formal and informal justice processes after decades of conflicts and violence. The policy is yet to be fully implemented and victims seeking justice are still waiting for its commitments to become a reality. On 25th February 2020, ASF in partnership with International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) and Refugee Law Project (RLP), organized the National Stakeholder Dialogue on Transitional Justice. The objective was to create a space for dialogue between civil society and the Government of Uganda. The dialogue was attended by 60 participants (28 male and 32 female) comprising civil society organizations, the Government officials, local leaders, religious leaders and victims associations.
