MIMOSA DUO CLASSICAL CONCERT Sunday 12th August at 1pm | Tickets: $24.50

The world class, virtuosic Mimosa Duo return to Avoca Theatre performing an all classical show. Renown as one of Australia’s finest Gypsy Jazz duo’s, their classical roots are showing and tickets are already selling up fast! Morgan and Phoebe’s highly acclaimed first album of classical pieces, has sold 1000’s of copies worldwide and is very much loved. An enthusiastic fan base called for another classical music concert from them, and with Mimosa Duo’s trademark passion, alongside their superlative talent, the audience will be elated with the result. Mimosa will be performing some favourites from their first album as well as new pieces you’ve never heard them play before. Be transported to the golden age of the Swing Era where the music sizzled with Reed virtuoso ADRIAN CUNNINGHAM! If it has a reed, Adrian has mastered it, and his nimble fingers weave magic as they soulfully caress the saxophone, or cleverly work the clarinet. His music interpretations range from fun and funky to sensitive and passionate. Adrian brings exuberance to the performance with his passion pulsating from the stage. Audiences adore him. Adrian is one of New York’s top Jazz multi-instrumentalists performing with bands such as The Nighthawks. Adrian will be leading his original swing quartet made up of Adrian on clarinet, Peter Locke on piano, Dave Pudney on double bass and John Morrison on drums. The quartet will bring you the very best swing songs from the American Song Book made famous by the kings of swing - Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw. Avoca Theatre are very proud to premiere the much loved singer Tom Burlinson’s newest show ‘Latin Serenity.’ Style and pizzazz are the trademark of every Tom Burlinson performance and this hot new show, coupled with the charm and silky voice of this much loved performer, will be a scorcher! Tom’s inimitable combination of storytelling and song has endeared him to audiences around the world. Following the extraordinary success of his musical shows ‘Frank – A Life in Song’ and ‘Now We’re Swinging!’ he’s collaborated with virtuoso Spanish guitarist Jim Pennell to create this newest sensation ‘Latin Serenity’. This intimate concert, with additional accompaniment from woodwinds and percussion, features some of the greatest songs from Brazilian legends Antonio Carlos Jobim and Luiz Bonfa such as ‘Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars’, The Girl from Ipanema’, ‘Wave’, ‘The Gentle Rain’ and ‘A Day in the Life of a Fool’. Classics from the Great American Song Book will also be given ‘the Latin treatment’.
