INDIA - New Design India Design Exhibition Outline

The exhibition, India - New Design, is a part of the design exhibition series conducted in the previous years by the Triennale Design Museum (the most important and regarded institution in Europe based in the Design Capital city of Milan). Last years series concluded by showcasing works of young designers/people from China, Korea, Brazil etc. Within the focus of the far-east and emerging economies, it intends to introduce the audience to new waves of design that will shape the future. It covers faculties from Product Design to Graphic Design, New Media design to Jewelry design and.....it strictly depends on the countries, their focus and their best models to show case to introduce to an international audience. With India, we shall be looking at showcasing some 20-30 artifacts in the field of design which could comprise not strictly in terms objects, but also images/ scenarios and the language coming out aloud in the field of design. One of the example featuring within and observed from our research from India is 'Grassroot Level' Design.....which we believe is a wonderful model to showcase to the world regarding the focus to re-imagine daily machines with a different perspective. Similarly, much follows by what is observed and suggested through our Advisory board members to confirm that we are presenting a vision in consideration of the best people available from India. Thus at an overall sense it will have : - works of young designers - artifacts from both designers and non-designers (medium sized) - different typologies of projects: Graphic and Information design (projects will be presented by tree dimensions artifacts or slides show); Jewelry; Fashion (preferably design accessories); Product design (many different kind of objects: furniture, furnishing accessories, house ware, industrial devices, etc ); interesting prototype or finished objects of grassroots design; Film and video I have personally been working in the research for the project and thus with a kind intention we intend to show, a young India and some pretty Global-India or India-International approaches also. That is particularly my focus on the project....so we do not continue to only look to the past but present the future to a world audience. As a part of making a comprehensive approach, we are looking at collaborating/working with patronage/sponsorship for a complete idea of representation from people/agencies/bodies of private and public nature. It is to my personal belief and request that I wish to present some Indian partners/companies etc. together with the Triennale's own partners. This specifically has a larger goal to represent India within the perspective of design which so far has been seen to be an italian forte. My personal observation within the last years of researches, travels and living in Europe has made me believe that there is an 'Alternative Approach' which India is prospering with and professing based on its own cultural, social values. And this set of values is a great exemplar to be showcased to the international community. The design exhibits here will form to be the fruits of such path....overarching the usual ones of films and movies....and spiritual image that old India exhumes. This specifically is to showcase the New India and its creative language. We are at the stage of selection of the samples/prototypes/examples to showcase in a set designed by Ms. Kavita Singh Kale. Now, given this background I wished to learn from you if there could be possibility of having Indian partners/corporates/companies/patronage/ contributions interested to present themselves within this unique opportunity.
