Highlights of 2021! A little better than 2020 perhaps, but far from a return to normal. Here is our review of the last 12 months and the progress made in the AV /IT markets.
For the last 2 years Coronavirus has more or less monopolised conversations. Now it’s the turn of sustainability – and the conversations will not be limited to a couple of years.
IBC ‘in-person’ event cancelled Maverick SKI theme for IBC organisers have taken the decision to cancel the in-person element of the 2021 event at the RAI in Amsterdam. They felt that the Covid situation in the Netherlands left them with no choice. In a statement, the IBC’s organisers said the move follows growing concerns about the Covid-19 situation in the Netherlands, which has deteriorated over the past week, and feedback from the IBC exhibitor and visitor community. “The IBC Partnership Board made the decision today in order to prevent exhibitors and visitors from travelling to The Netherlands,” added the statement. The event will still take place digitally via IBC Digital. IBC 2021 was due to take place from 3rd-6th December in Amsterdam. Earlier this month the Dutch government announced
it was instigating a three-week partial lockdown, which is due to be revisited on 3rd December. New figures show that a reported 153,957 new cases of
coronavirus were registered in the week to Tuesday morning, a new record and a rise of 39 per cent on last week.
