Star Tree, mixed media on canvas board, by Ruth Lais (featured on cover) Ruth Lais is a professional artist and Avivo ArtWorks Collective member. Currently living in northeast Minneapolis, she works in a variety of mediums, primarily focusing on acrylic painting and mosaics. Color is what motivates her designs and creations. It is her wish that others can enjoy the bright palette Ruth works with. Everything from whimsical, pet paintings, to wild mosaic abstracts is found in her portfolio. Ruth has exhibited with the Minneapolis Institute of Art, Made Here, Indigo Swan, Avivo ArtWorks and has curated an exhibition at the Solar Arts Building. She was a recipient of the VSA Emerging Artist Grant in 2017.
