Helping all kinds of folks have great sex since 2001, Early to Bed is committed to offering a safe, welcoming space to shop for erotic delights. Owner Searah Deysach fell in love with Andersonville’s inclusivity back in high school. That inspiration has translated into her store, and Early to Bed’s goal is to make a first-time sex shop experience comfortable, fun, and not scary. With a focus on education, safety, and inclusion, no other Chicago establishment can compare! All toys are hand-selected and meet the store’s fussy must-have-fun standards of safety, usability, and value. In 2022, Early to Bed is putting down permanent roots on Clark street in a beautiful new space at 5128 N Clark. early2bed.com

90 years in business—same name, same location. Honoring Andersonville’s Scandinavian roots, Svea is one of the sole remaining relics of Swedish dining in this northside enclave and beloved by all! Home of the Viking Breakfast, this old-school diner, open for breakfast and lunch daily, features a sprawling menu of Swedish comfort food, from thin pancakes draped in lingonberries to savory Swedish sausages, meatballs, open-faced sandwiches on limpa bread, and more.

Land & Lake’s focus is serving elevated takes on classic midwestern dishes and the name is an homage to the region, sourcing a majority of their products from the states depicted on the map in their logo. The bar program focuses primarily on local and regional beer and liquors and American made wine. Located behind the restaurant is a covered, private garden area, perfect for events. Local Chicago artist Jason Brammer created two not-to-miss wall murals featuring historic buildings from the area and highlighting the iconic Swedish flag water tower. landlkitchen.com
