Malaysia Airports

Since its corporatisation in 1992 as Malaysia Airports Berhad, Malaysia Airports has grown into a leading global airport operator. In 1999, it was restructured as Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (the Group) and became the first airport operator in Asia to be listed on Bursa Malaysia, marking a significant milestone in its development.

Following 25 years as a listed entity, Malaysia Airports was delisted in 2025 after a successful privatisation by the Gateway Development Alliance (GDA). GDA is a consortium comprising 70% Malaysian government-linked investment companies (GLICs) i.e. Khazanah Nasional Berhad (via its wholly-owned subsidiary, UEM Group Berhad) and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF). The remaining 30% is held by international investors, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP).

Today, Malaysia Airports manages 39 airports across Malaysia, comprising five international airports, 17 domestic airports, and 17 STOLports (Short Take-Off and Landing airports), as well as its international asset, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport in Türkiye.

As an airport operator, the Group’s core business is the management, operation, maintenance and development of airport infrastructure, with a strong focus on operational efficiency, safety and

service excellence. Across its network, Malaysia Airports continues to enhance airside and landside capabilities to support airline operations, improve passenger flows and strengthen overall airport performance.

Guided by its strategic priorities of Service, Growth and Capacity, the Group is focused on optimising existing capacity, modernising critical assets and leveraging technology to support increasing passenger and cargo demand. In parallel, Malaysia Airports is strengthening its role in enabling aviation ecosystem development, including supporting the growth of aerospace and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) activities through initiatives such as the development of airport-linked industrial zones and strategic partnerships with global industry players.

Through this approach, Malaysia Airports continues to reinforce its position not only as an airport operator, but as a key enabler of a more connected, competitive and future-ready aviation industry.
