Why Here, Why Now: Insight into Regional Investment and MRO Growth Opportunities
As the fleets of Eastern Europe and the Baltics grow, so must the region’s MRO infrastructure. Countries like Slovakia, Lithuania, and Latvia are actively positioning themselves as strategic hubs for MRO investment, offering competitive incentives, skilled labour, and geographic advantages. This session will explore where the investment opportunities lie, how recent M&A activity is shaping the market, and what makes this region stand out for OEMs, operators, and service providers looking to expand. Where are the strongest opportunities for MRO investment across airframe, engine, component, and line maintenance? How are businesses assessing the value of investing in this region versus others more globally?
Moderator: Jonas Murby, Partner, AeroDynamic Advisory Deniss Čamovs, Senior Investment Advisor, Invest in Latvia

Navigating the Workforce Crisis in Aviation
Shortages of talent have reached a tipping point, exacerbated by post pandemic shifts and cross regional competition. What can the industry do to secure a robust talent pipeline and attract young diverse talent to the aviation industry? How can companies measure the effectiveness of their recruitment plans and training programs and ensure they are aligned with industry needs? How can MROs/Airlines further collaborate with educational institutions to create tailored training programs? What role does technology play in training and helping meet future talent requirements? To what extent will incentives, salary and company culture be able to improve experienced technicians retention in such a competitive market? What strategies can be implemented to address the generational gap in the workforce?
Moderator: Lindsay Bjerregaard, Managing Editor, MRO, Aviation Week Network

Leasing Dynamics: The Impact of Changing Structures, End-Of-Lease and The Rise of ACMI
With a heavy ACMI presence in the region and a growing trend of lease extensions, an update from the leasing market is essential. This session will explore the current trends in aircraft leasing, and how they are impacting airline/MRO operations. How can airlines optimize their leaseback and return strategies to maximize financial benefits? How do ACMI airlines maintenance needs differ from legacy carrier fleets e.g. to what extent does ACMI airlines reliance on component exchanges rather than the more traditional PBH approach affect the market? What role are lessors playing in supporting fleet expansion in Eastern Europe?
Moderator: Richard Brown, Managing Director, NAVEO Consultancy
Edvinas Demenius, CEO, SmartLynx Airlines
Valentin Ivanov, CTO, Heston Airlines
Martin Mintěl, Head of Components and Spares Division, Czech Airlines Technics
Luc Morvan, Head of Leasing Operations, Sanad

2:40pm Engine Challenges and MRO Readiness: Balancing Current and Future MRO Demands
With ongoing new generation engine durability issues, the need to keep legacy engines operational continues. This challenge is compounded by a deficit of spare engines, lack of available USM, supply chain disruptions, and expensive, scarce short-term leases. How are MRO’s balancing their capabilities between legacy and new-gen engines, and how prepared are they for the contingent change in demand once the durability issues are rectified? How effective are module exchanges in reducing engine shop time and mitigating aircraft downtime? Is the shortage of slots linked with very few new-generation engine OEM certified shops? How are engine shortages leading to grounded aircraft and lost revenue? What role do OEMs play in facilitating a smooth transition between engine types?
Moderator: James Pozzi, MRO Editor EMEA, Aviation Week Network

Ensuring Parts Availability in a Challenging Market: Can Alternative Part Solutions Mitigate Current Part Shortages?
With the global supply chain under strain, ensuring supply of critical parts is more important than ever, but what are the best practices for sourcing alternative parts? Is 2025 the time to re-consider other options like PMA, recycling aero-grade materials or repair technologies? What are the challenges/bottlenecks associated with implementation e.g. PMA acceptance or scalability of new repair technologies? What role does recycling aero-grade materials or new repair techniques play in achieving cost efficiencies and increased sustainability? How can advanced materials extend the lifespan of aging fleets? Are regulatory frameworks equipped to accommodate these innovations?

With more than 600 experienced professionals and a strategic location in Central Europe, CSAT supports customers across the globe with efficient, high-quality solutions.
Operating under the OneStopMRO strategy, CSAT covers a full range of services including heavy and line maintenance, aircraft painting, CAMO support, AOG interventions, spare parts logistics, and component repairs.
A major focus in 2025 is the further development of our newly established AOG team, which works in close cooperation with our highly capable Line Maintenance division. This setup ensures fast, flexible response in critical situations and helps operators minimize aircraft downtime.
CSAT also operates a specialized landing gear facility on site, allowing for efficient overhauls, repairs, and component management. Our portfolio is further strengthened by an e-shop offering hard-to-find spare parts—components that are often unavailable through standard channels.

Designed with both performance and sustainability in mind, the hangar supports full aircraft painting and refinishing services to the highest standards.
Another innovation introduced in 2025 will be a fully digitalized tool distribution system, the first of its kind among independent MROs in the region. This solution improves safety, streamlines operations, and ensures full traceability of tools used during maintenance work.
With decades of experience, in-house infrastructure, and a commitment to continuous improvement, Czech Airlines Technics remains a trusted partner for airlines and lessors seeking a stable, flexible, and highly professional MRO provider.

CFM International (CFM), a 50/50 joint company between GE and Safran Aircraft Engines, is the world’s leading supplier of commercial transport aircraft engines and the best example of a successful international joint venture.
The agreement that established CFM calls for the two parent companies to share everything equally, from design and development to production and support. Final engine assembly is performed both at GE facilities in Lafayette, Indiana, and Durham, North Carolina in the U.S., and at Safran facilities in Villaroche, France.
Since the first engine was delivered in 1982, CFM has received orders for more than 55,000 CFM56 and LEAP engines from some 600+ operators worldwide, of which more than 40,000 engines have been delivered. CFM currently produces the advanced LEAP engine family to power the Airbus A320neo, the Boeing 737 MAX, and the COMAC C919.
Since the first LEAP engines entered revenue service in August 2016, the fleet has demonstrated worldclass daily utilization rates while delivering a 15 to 20+ percent improvement in fuel efficiency, along with significant reductions in noise and emissions signatures. To date, the fleet has logged a total of 70 million engine flight hours, allowing our customers to save 50 million tons of CO2 compared to previous generation engines.
The CFM Services organization focuses on providing world-class aftermarket products and programs, working with customers to meet their unique, evolving needs from entry-into service to mid-life through maturity and retirement.
In June 2021, GE and Safran launched the CFM RISE (Revolutionary Innovation for Sustainable Engines) * Technology Demonstration Program as a manifestation of the deep commitment they share for achieving ambitious goals for a sustainable future. The program embodies CFM’s mission to push the limits of innovation to develop, demonstrate, and bring to market breakthrough technologies that will help protect the planet.
Technologies matured as part of the RISE Program will serve as the foundation for the next generation CFM engine that could be available by the mid-2030s. Program goals include reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by more than 20 percent compared to today’s most efficient engines, as well as ensuring compatibility with alternative energy sources like Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) and hydrogen. The program will deliver revolutionary performance all while maintaining the unrivalled.
