Welcome

Dear Attendees,

Welcome to the 2026 Military Aviation Logistics and Maintenance Symposium (MALMS), held in the vibrant city of Orlando, Florida, on April 21-22. We are thrilled to have you join us for this annual event, where we explore the critical theme: The Warfighter’s Edge: Sustainment, Lethality, and the Future of Military Readiness.

This year’s symposium brings together the brightest minds and key stakeholders in military aviation logistics and sustainment. Together, we will delve into the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of military readiness, ensuring our warfighters maintain their edge in an ever-evolving landscape. This event fosters an environment where industries—both commercial and military—can connect, collaborate, and innovate.

We extend our gratitude to our sponsors—Elbit America, Heico, NexGen Aero, and Standard Aero—for their generous support and commitment to advancing the mission of MALMS. Their partnership is instrumental in making this event a success. Please take a few minutes to thank their representatives and visit their booths on the expo floor.

A special thank you goes to all our speakers, whose expertise and insights will undoubtedly inspire and inform us all. We also want to recognize the hard work and dedication of our advisory committee members, whose efforts have been invaluable in recruiting many of the speakers you will hear from over the next two days.

We are excited to host Table Talks again this year. These interactive lunch discussions will allow attendees to extend conversations on key topics from the agenda, participate in discussions aligned with their interests, and engage in one-on-one conversations with our speakers. This is a unique chance to dive deeper into the issues that matter most to you and foster meaningful connections with industry leaders.

Additionally, we invite you to join us for our Cocktail Networking Reception on April 21 at 3:45 PM in the MALMS Pavilion, sponsored by Peerless Aerospace at booth #828. 11:25 am Room S320 G-H Defense UAS Maintenance: Ensuring Mission Readiness

As military operations increasingly rely on unmanned aircraft systems for critical missions, maintaining peak operational readiness has become paramount.

The defense UAS market presents unique opportunities for organizations with existing Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) capabilities. Current MRO infrastructure, including established supply chains, certified technician networks, and proven quality assurance protocols, creates natural pathways into the expanding drone production and sustainment markets.

This session explores how traditional MRO competencies—such as component-level repairs, predictive maintenance technologies, and logistics support—directly translate to drone operations, offering defense contractors and military maintenance units strategic advantages in supporting nextgeneration unmanned systems. By leveraging existing maintenance capabilities, organizations can rapidly scale their involvement in the critical mission of keeping defense UAS platforms mission-ready and operationally effective.
