Engine Sustainment for Aircraft Efficiency & Combat Capability The Department of the Air Force consumes 54% of DoD’s petroleum/aerospace energy.

Future conflicts will require that we maximize the combat capability of each airframe to most effectively manage fuel logistic supply chain risks. The goal of SAF/IEN’s engine sustainment program is to improve the operational effect of our aircraft by implementing technologies that increase aircraft range, improve engine performance, decrease maintenance actions and increase aircraft readiness.
