BOzwald Boateng, stars in British Airways’ new safety video, which gives a detailed explanation to its passengers about the safety features of the aircraft they are onboard before take-off.

The 5-minute video, to be shown on the airline’s longhaul aircraft from 1 May 2023, illustrates basic dos and don’ts in an aircraft, highlights the usage of oxygen masks and other protective gear like jackets, seatbelts, and evacuation procedures, and features Ozwald Boateng in two scenes.

Ozwald’s continued partnership with British Airways is preceded by the success of the “British Airways x Ozwald Boateng” ‘collection launched by British Airways in 2023 in the midst of its “A British Original” campaign.

The collection to be worn by 30,000 British Airways staff this spring features a three-piece tailored suit for men, a fit-style trouser, dress, and skirt option for women, and a modern jumpsuit, tunic, and hijab option

Boateng, born to Ghanaian immigrants in the Muswell Hill district of London on February 28, 1967, and inspired by the immaculate suits his father wore, took a contemporary approach to fashion design, including menswear design with a trademark twist on classic tailoring and bespoke styles.

Boateng was commissioned by John Agyekum Kufuor, former President of the Republic of Ghana, to design and orchestrate a show at the ninth annual African Union summit in Accra in 2007, a period that coincided with the 200-year mark since the cessation of the transatlantic slave trade and the 50-year celebration of Ghanaian independence.
