OPD Student Centerstage Sarah Baulac, Class of 2022 "The Office of Professional Development have been instrumental in kick-starting my law career. As a first generation college student without any ties to the legal field prior to attending Ave, I did not fully understand the breadth of options available to me as a practicing attorney. The OPD has helped me explore potential career options and counseled me on opportunities to consider in order to fully take advantage of my time in school. Every appointment with the OPD staff is uniquely tailored to me, and I always walk IN THIS ISSUE

away feeling prepared with the tools that I need to succeed. Most recently, the OPD supported me during my internship with Magistrate Judge Mac McCoy in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Their help didn’t stop when the application process ended. The OPD, Professor Ross, and, of course, my faculty advisor Professor Tenzer facilitated a supplemental externship course which greatly enhanced my time in chambers. The comprehensive program encouraged me to reflect on my internship, set stretch goals, and create a plan for improvement. Professional development is a continuous and serpentine journey. No entity is better equipped to support that expedition than the Ave Maria School of Law OPD."
